[Tis fine. Oh, snappage. Poor Skya. And this time, no Sasha to comfort her. Bah...hmm...]
Adam was studying his drooling colt with disgust when a car eased into the driveway. A man strode over, expression worried. He looked uncomfortable to be at the facility, sheepishly approaching Adam and clearing his throat. "Uh...hey. I just wanted to ask how Skya's doing..." He stumbled over his words, gazing at the ground, hands tucked behind his back.
"Uh...she's fine, I think...." Adam responded slowly, carefully. Who was this guy? A past boyfriend or something? There'd certainly been a few guys interested in Skya, popping up at the facility now and then. He couldn't recall a single guy's name though.
"Oh. Really? That looked to be a pretty nasty fall though. I mean, she went down hard. Hit the rail and everything." The man said quickly, eyes alight with surprise. Relief swept across his face momentarily, glad to hear that it was nothing serious. His expression faltered though, seeing the confusion on the jockey's face, saw how he started forward.
Adam immediately demanded more details, in which case the man was quick to respond. Clearly, Adam had no idea what had happened to Skya. He abruptly pushed past the man, pulling the lead so that Zeph would return to his stall. As soon as the door was closed, Adam headed for his truck, slamming the door closed and driving toward town.

[Oh okay.] Daisy Mae had finished getting settled and was currently in the stables, staring at Honey. The soft aroma of hay and grain wafting around her and clogged her senses. She need to talk to Aiden about her sweet barrel racing horse, Honey. Her fingers absently tapped her thigh to the beat and her eyes sparkled with content happiness. Under the surface though she was anxious and nervous, she wondered if she would get to keep Honey or if she would have to take her home to her parents Cattle Ranch.

The doctors finished up and left Skya to her bed. All that was left was to pray. They left the comatose woman to herself, hooked up to IVs and the soft beat of the Heart Monitor all that stirred the silence. Her breath was barely audible, shallow and soft. She looked peaceful but something about her state stirred anyone's heart. The brain swellage was severe and there was a possibility this could be one of those severe comas. Ones that lasted for a month or few.

[Blargh, dunno what to do with this. Characters are all frozen. Done with my drawing anyway. May post in the chatroom before going to bed.]
Adam entered Skya's hospital room after asking one of her doctors a question. His skin was crawling, eyes flitting around to take in the too-familiar surroundings. His heart was hammering in his chest as he recalled his own hospital stay. From the looks of it, Skya would be in for one just as long, possibly. Poor kid. He'd have to go check on Seeker soon and bring the poor horse home.

''Can I go? I don't have anyone to pick me up.'' Amber asked flatly, reapplying the ice pack to her cheek. She glanced around the room into each crook and corner. All hospital, medical-related rooms felt sterile and barren, and often appeared to be searing white in her eyes despite the occasional posters meant to add flare and diminish some of the bore of it all. She swallowed some water and then blinked.

Skya came out later with wet hair and cotton plaid green booty shorts with a bubblegum pink tank top. She nearly screamed when she saw Ethan in her room and then calmed almost immediately. "Don't do that." She closed her door and threw herself onto her bed, turning on the television. It was on a horse racing channel.

Serenity sat facing an old oak tree, a pocket knife and an apple in hand. Her eyebrows were furrowed with concretion and her hair was pulled back in a high ponytail to keep it from getting in her face. She took a deep, calming breath and than she threw the apple at the tree. A second later she threw the pocket knife, aiming for the small red target. Ever frowned when the apple continued to fall and than thumped against the ground, a flurry of curses escaped her mouth, disappointed in failure. She had done this a couple times now and all she had managed to do was skim the apple's skin.
Dez finished her run, a happy and accomplished smirk on her face. She had ran ten miles and it nearly killed her, but she did it. As if to prove it, her skin was slick with sweat and her hair was a mess. She headed straight for the kitchen in the cabin, desperately wanting a bottle of water.

"You jockeys pratically ask to die out there, gosh..." Alec narrowed his eyes as he passed Dez. He really didn't like how many jockeys worried over their weight so much that they would go so far to lose it. Honestly, if they couldn't maintain it, why would they race? There were plenty of other things to do; jump, barrel race, everything. Last time he'd checked, no one was fussing over their weight to run barrels or rope cattle or jump over obstacles.
