Adam sighed and shrugged. "Well, Gal's stall looks to be finished, so I'm going to bring him in and settle him back in before I go in, I guess." He finally gave up and headed out into the blustery cold again, pulling his thick jacket tighter to his thin frame. His face pinched as the cold air sliced through to his bones. Why was he so cold-sensitive these days?

Sadie sighed quietly, nodding without saying anything. She slid down the aisle and slid into LuLu's new stall. The filly pressed her face against her owner, and the jockey played with the cherry bay's ears. After a long while of deep thought, Sadie left the stables and headed quickly out into the cold and towards the bunkhouse. She headed up the girl's wing staircase and ended up taking a long shower and she dressed in sweats, a v-neck shirt, and a thick pair of socks. She pulled her damp hair high on top of her head and descended the stairs, unsure exactly what to do at the moment.

(Sleeping, I'll wake her up!^^)
Ever woke with a start, drenched in sweat, it turned out dreamland wasn't quite as kind as she hoped. Slow tears began to cascade down her cheeks as she stood on wobbly feet, fixing her hair and pulling on a jacket. She coutinued to cry as she pulled on snow boots and headed outside to make sure Rain was alright. She glanced at parking lot and noticed not one, but three new cars. Tentatively, she approached one with the driver still in the car. She knocked softly and than crossed her arms over her midsection, she was a compete mess. Her hair was still alittle disheveled and her eyes were swollen and puffy,"Welcome to Cross, I'm Ever, a jockey of Cross, is there anything I can help you with?"she asked, her voice cracking.

Cat dramatically pressed the window button, peering out at Ever, still, as it continued to roll down. She always wondered where did the window go. "Hey there. I'm Cat Harris, a to-be jockey at Cross." She responded brightly as she climbed from the car, brushing off the french fry crumbs from her bare legs. "And sure. But, how about I help you first? You look so tired. I can make an at-home salon and we can do our nails and our hair and I can doll you up. You seem like you deserve a day to yourself," Cat proposed as she pulled luggage from the popped open trunk. "I know how to do a bunch of braids. Waterfall braids, fishtail braids, french braids. And, I have Wen Conditioner and balm and it works so good. It'd be so fun!" She squealed, just about hopping on her toes.

Aiden finally managed to convince the officer that he was indeed the facility owner, due in part to Adam drifting past with Gallant Marines. Aiden guessed that it helped that Gal had attempted to take a chunk out of the officer seconds earlier before Adam insisted that Aiden was facility owner. The officer didn't speak again until Adam and Gal had disappeared into the stables.
"There was a pretty serious accident outside of Canterbury just last night involving two cars, one of which we believe belongs to a member of this...establishment. It would seem that one of your guests was parked off to the side of the road and a second car lost control in the storm. Wrapped the little car around a tree. The one driver died and the other is in critical condition at the hospital."

Sadie ended up curled up on the couch in a blanket, eyes drifting shut. Though, it appeared that she was asleep, she was just listening to the world around her. She was warm and comofrtable, but something else nagged at the back of her mind. She didn't know what; but she felt restless. She flipped over with a groan so she was facing the back of the couch, eyes opened to slits. Her muscles ached with exhaustion, but her mind was alert and thrumming, and it was driving her nuts.

Ever raised an eyebrow at this girl, she didn't even know her or her story and she was being so nice, that Ever couldn't help, but smile and nod. She tilted her head,"Nice to meet you, Cat. I'm sorry I'm such a wreck, it's just been a bad couple of months and I would really appreciate that spa day, I'm in desperate need of one, obviously."she smiled, half-heartedly,"Can I help you with your bags? I can show you around if you want."she offered, her broken spirit healing just a tad.

(( I'm Not The One by 3OH!3 reminds me of Ever even though the song is being told by a different point of view. The whole drugs thing and being sad is probably why. ))
Cat nodded enthusiastically. "Sure thing," She chimed as she let Ever have the lightest of the luggage. "And it's cool, you don't have to show me around. If you could help me find my room that'd be nice. Then I could unpack and we can spend the rest of the day relaxing. It sounds great, right?" She chirped happily as she shut the trunk but forgot to lock the doors.

Aiden finally asked for names of the people involved in the accident. The young officer referred to his notes. "There was a Jeffrey Day and a Miguel M...Mendo...Mendo..."
"Mendoza. Miguel stayed here...he was in the little car, wasn't he? He was the driver that died?" Aiden needed to double check. Right before Christmas and this had to happen?
"Yeah. I saw that car wreckage. Car's completely totalled, there was a lot of blood, and both people were there over night. The accident was found only this morning. Other driver's lost a lot of blood as well and is suffering from hypothermia on top of it." The officer said carelessly.
