Dez peeked out of the cabin door, a soft smile on her lips, when she noticed a new truck pull in. She had been looking for Ever, but Ever could wait, it didn't look like anyone was heading to meet the new person so Dez through on her favorite north face and went out to introduce the new person to Cross. As soon as she opened the door, the cold rammed into her and took her breath away. It was that cold. She shook her head as she stepped outside and put on her scarf. She jumped into action when the icy breeze nipped at her open flesh, she made a mad dash for it. Her boots leaving soft imprints in the gorgeous white snow.
Dez knocked on the window, hopping on her toes,"Hello and welcome to Crosd Thoroughbred Racing Facility. I'm Dez, a jockey of Cross."she said, smiling brightly.

KENTON SMITH
A taller jockey had stepped out of the truck as Dez neared. He was rather tall for a jockey, standing at a height of around 5'6. He had a stocky build as well, thick shoulders, muscular legs. He had a square jaw and dark blonde hair; misted with lighter and darker hues. His eyes were a startling green color; and seemed to rove around the facility's grounds. As the other jockey neared, he turned on his heel, examining her closely for a moment before replying.
"Hello Dez. I'm Kenton, Kent for short, er... Jockey as well." He said gruffly, sticking his hand out in greeting. His hands were roughly calloused from work. His eyebrows pulled together for a moment as he studied this female jockey before he glanced over his shoulder at the snow dusted forest. "It's quite beautiful here. As I might add, the ladies aren't so bad looking either." He turned back to Dez, beaming with a flirtatious wink in his eye.
Another snort came from the trailer and Kenton let go of Dez's hand. "One moment, Dez. I'll pull my horse out and would you mind showing me around this lovely facility of yours?" He asked curiously, pausing for a moment before heading around to grab his colt. He unlatched the door and stepped back as the ramp lowered. Instead stood a gorgeous dark bay colt; his ebony mane stood on end, even with the likes of a war pony. His dark eyes slipped through the dim darkness of the horse trailer and he stepped high and proudly as Kenton lead him out.
"Unfading King. Two year old colt. Contracted to ride him about a month ago, he hasn't broken his maiden yet, and we hope to make a great career for him come spring time." Kenton introduce the beautiful thoroughbred to the other jockey. "What'd you think?"

Dez smiled, raising a slim dark eyebrow, studying the rather tall, though stocky jockey. A soft rosy blush decorated her cheeks when he told her she was pretty,"You say that now, just wait till you see our backside as we cross the finish line."she said, trying to sound clever.
Dez shifted her weight as she studied the handsome and well built thoroughbred, her icy blue eyes running over his figure. "Nice built, looks like a fine ride, but what's his best time?"she asked, circling widely around the colt. She tucked a piece of her ebony hair behind her ear, a thoughtful look in her eyes."You might be some competition."she commented.
A soft smile appeared on Dez's lips again,"Sure I'd be happy to show you around, but on one condition."she said, a shy glint in her eye. She nodded her head and than turned on her boot clad heel and headed in the direction of the stables. She hunched her back against the cold, smiling again.

KENTON SMITH
Kent laughed gently; a hearty, comforting sound before he quieted after a moment. His eyes were bright against the snow landscape around them. His breath escaped in silver smoke puffs, drifting through the air vaguely and disappearing into the greater gray of the sky. "Hm... We'll have to see about that." He commented.
He turned slightly as she appraised his colt. "He is. Er... I actually haven't had anyone time him. Haven't found a trainer yet to help me." He said quietly, awkwardly for a moment before scratching the back of his head. His dirty blonde hair was ruffled slightly, and a few snowflakes that snaked down landed on the tips of slight spikes, melting almost instantly.
Unfading King danced on the end of his lead, tossing his chisled, large head. He stared at Dez, unsurely, dark globes ominous and were just barely rimmed with white. The thoroughbred did not like new places, and the sooner he was settled down in a stall, the better. "Sorry, he gets a bit spooky sometimes. Afterall, he's barely more than a yearling." Kenton explained the colt's odd behavior.
"Anyway, what would this one condition be?" He asked curiously, wrapping the lead around one hand and leaning against his silver truck. The paint of the Ram 3500 glinted dully in the winter sun.

Adam had drifted outside, heading for his truck, despite the late hour. Sweat glistened on his forehead despite the freezing air, and he remained bundled up. His jaw was tight as he walked along, but he paused long enough to appraise the situation. "Dez, you aren't forcing anyone into slavery or forcing a date, are you?" He chided, voice a tad strained. He drew a steadying breath, eyes tightening. He abruptly turned away, heading for his truck. He couldn't stay and chat.
Adam had left a note on his pillow in case Sadie went searching for him. Went to urgent care. Bad stomach pain. Will call in morning. - Adam
PS: Don't tell Jessie; she might kill me.
Adam clenched his jaw and boosted himself up into the truck, turning the engine on and slumping against the steering wheel while he waited for his truck to heat up. He closed his eyes as molten heat curled in his core tightly enough to make him nauseous. It faded after a few seconds, leaving him with a hollow feeling and cold shivers. He swore softly, glad that no one was there. Finally, he pulled out of the parking lot, headed for town.

MERCEDES WILDE
Sadie had been taking care of Nessie at the moment. She had groomed the mare, until her white coat gleamed brightly and her mane and tail were smoothed to a manageable mess. The jockey stepped back to appraise her work, eyebrows raised faintly, making her forehead wrinkle for a heartbeat for her expression smoothed and she smiled faintly. "You're a pretty girl, aren'tcha?" She coddled the broodmare before returning Nevada Virtue to her stall for the evening, the stall had recently been cleaned, and there was fresh food and water.
Sadie spent the next hour working with LuLu with her ground work. The filly was coming along beautifully, and Sadie was glad about it. She wasn't being too difficult and was actually paying attention to the jockey's lesson. After a while though, the foal was warn out and practically dragged her owner back to the stables. After doing the same for Sunkissed Lullaby as Sadie had done for her mother, Sadie returned to the bunkhouse. She hung up her boots and stripped of her boots before glancing around.
She paused, she had been heading for the kitchen but decided to go see if Adam was feeling okay. She hadn't seen her boyfriend in awhile, and it made the blonde young woman rather worried. When she knocked on his door without a response, she cautiously slid in and found the note. She read it a few times, before stuffing it in her pocket with furrowed eyebrows.
Adam wasn't one to willingly go the hospital unless if it was for checkup or something... She sighed and debated on whether to call him or not right then.

Kent earned another one of Dez's smiles,"Oh trust me there's no we'll see about it."she said, turning to glance back at him. She admitted to anyone he was cute and he had nice colt.
"You've never timed you're horse? And you're a jockey?"Dez asked, shocked. She shook her horse,"Once we can get back to the practice track, we're going and I'm gonna time you. How many times have you ridden him?"she asked, curiosity dawning in her eyes.
She nodded,"I understand completely, Ellie was the same way expect she wouldn't let anyone near her and I mean anyone. I got her used to me after staying outside her round pen for a month."she said, peering at the colt once more.
"The condition is I get to ride that colt sometime."Dez replied, smiling at him. She opened the stable door,"Welcome to the stables, it's purty isn't it?"

Keely's sobs soon turned to hyperventalations, as she pressed her cold, wet, body against his. "No it won't. And now Jordan hates me!" She whimpered. She didn't know that Jordan was being rude to everyone, and that it really wasn't her that he was just being rude to. Although he did seem to avoid her more then he did to anyone else. Sniffling, her loud sobs decreased to hiccuping sniffles. She then stepped away to stare up at Blake's face, green eyes searching his tanned face. She offered a small smile, before she leaned up on her tiptoes, and kissed his cheek, lips brushing softly againt his cheek. She was too scared to kiss him full on the lips for now, so, she settled for this.
