[I'm baaaack! Got done babysitting. My sister was really good today. She was super sweet for me and I think I'm honestly just still clinging to how precious she is in the wake of the shooting since she's in that age group. Y'know? But I think I have slight anxiety problems. I was paranoid while picking my sister up and walking her home. We wound up watching Spirit and then Balto, so at least I got to relax a bit.]

KENTON SMITH The jockey followed along closely behind. Unfading King plodded along, head low and nearing the snow as he blew out every once in awhile. He shook out his long, ebony mane that needed to be cut and paused every once in awhile to sniff at this and that. The dark bay was utterly gorgous, and stood out against the snowy landscape. He was bulky and stocky, with wide shoulders and was tall, nearing seventeen hands. His legs were long and stable, and he had wonderful confirmation. His eyes were dark and mysterious, and looked as if they held all of the secrets of the world.
"I cannot wait to meet this Blue. He sounds wonderful." Kent chided quietly, eyebrows furrowing for a moment before he came to fall in step with Dez. "I hope King will settle will, I'm sure he will, but you never know." He rambled slightly, glancing around with wide eyes at his new home. WORD COUNT 201OUT OF CHARACTER Aw, just something someone said about the shooting at school. They can be so insensitive Anyway, hey Story! Wanna RP?

Adam wound up sitting in the waiting room for just under an hour, which was honestly a surprise. Urgent care was never as busy as the ER was. It appeared though, that they were short-staffed, which would account for the longer wait. Adam simply reclined in his chair to the best of his ability, eyes closed and head tilted back as if he was gazing at the ceiling. His arms lay across his stomach and his jaw stayed clenched, aching from where Peter had punched him the day prior. He was just beginning to drift off to sleep when he heard his name called.
His eyes fluttered open and he pulled himself into an upright position, shuffling slowly after the doctor. He answered the various questions once in a little room. Primary physician, current symptoms, any current medications, all that jazz. Adam answered in a quiet voice, one that spoke of exhaustion. He had been roused from sleep to experience the stomach pain. He supposed it might have to do with stress a bit, but he wasn't sure. He'd wait and see what the doctor said.
When left alone for a few minutes, Adam closed his eyes, drawing slow, deep breaths and forcing every muscle in his body to relax. He was trying to pull himself out of the moment, to distance himself from sensation. And, for a brief moment, it seemed to work. He lost all awareness of sensation. Until the doctor walked back in, snapping his concentration.

Sadie had fallen asleep on the couch, her arm covering part of her face with a blanket pulled up to her waist. She was evidently tired from working her two girls and after awhile, she eventually awoke. She sat up slowly, brushing a hand through her golden blonde hair with a slight frown before standing up carefully. She stuffed her hands into her pockets and paced around for a while, forehead wrinkled. She didn't know what else to do, and she was feeling a bit restless, her body was tired, but her mind was thrumming like electricity.
Inside her pocket, she pulled out the note she had found on Adam's bed. She wasn't too bothered that he had gone to instant care, but she was worried. She wondered when he would call and tell her what was going on. But, she was content to just wander about at the moment, eyes dull with sleep and her hair a bit messy.

Eventually, Adam was given his answer. He didn't seem that excited, but he also wasn't bummed out, either. He was given a prescription to get filled out when the pharmacy opened, which would be sometime after seven in the morning. He complained inwardly about the wait, but he simply thanked the doctor and headed outside. He'd have to truck on through it until he could be given something. He shuddered as he stepped outside and was almost immediately slapped in the face by the cold air. He all but bolted through the snow, head low against the sharp wind that had picked up in the area. He stopped himself just in time to avoid face-planting his truck, arms breaking the collision before it could become an issue. He fumbled with his keys, trying to hit the unlock button before scrambling inside and kicking snow off his shoes. He closed the truck and began the lovely task of waiting for the windows to defrost.
In the meantime, numb fingers worked at texting Sadie. He'd have called but, given the hour, assumed she might have gone to bed. He wound up having to delete the text and start again, as his frozen fingers hit several other letters at the same time, leaving half of the words in gibberish. He finally got a message that was mostly right, though a few words still had misspellings.
