When Abram glanced up, the stark landscape he'd been sketching had been invaded by a ghost. He eyed the mare warily, recognizing her vaguely only because of her pale coat. He didn't know her name- the only one he'd been introduced to was Gallant and that certainly hadn't gone over well. He'd given the horses a pretty wide berth, happy to let their handlers move them so he could fix their stalls or whatever needed to be done. He heard Kohl give a low whine, the normally quiet dog watching the mare with some nervousness.
"Easy Kohl." He murmured to the dog. He was reluctant to give up his perch on the rail, and as she stood watching him he slowly began to sketch her inquisitive pose into the snow pasture scene he'd been sketching, grey-green eyes flicking between her and his sketchbook. As long as she stayed a few yards away he was fine, but he kept an eye on her, partly for reference and partly because if she kept coming closer he wanted to be able to get on the other side of the fence fast. He didn't trust any strange animal as big as a horse to come close to him with good intentions.

NEVADA VIRTUE[/color]
The white mare didn't take anything step for a very long time. Her neck was arched now and she pawed clumsily at the snow. Her ears pricked when she noticed his sketchbook. She nickered intriguingly and took one step closer. Her owner, Sadie, loved to draw and the sound of the pencil on the paper sounded familiar to the retired racehorse now broodmare. She took two more tentative steps, she didn't want to spook this human, because he seemed a bit nervous. Her body language was relaxed and she didn't seem threatening at all, just merely curious about this new human and dog. Once she was just a mere few feet away, she stopped again, keen blue eyes watching Kohl now. She snorted softly at the dog, head bowing to examine him through one of the lower slates in the fence.

The Spaniard was growing frustrated again. He wanted to examine his new horse, but, he didn't want an encounter with Adam again. He glanced over his shoulder, brow furrowing as he noticed that Adam was preoccupied with Sadie. His nose wrinkled at the girl jockey, but he turned swiftly on his heel and walked back down the aisle. He stopped a few yards outside of Like Clockwork's stall. He appraised the brown thoroughbred and then the girl, Breanna. "Go get settled, I want to see him." He said rather gruffly, eyeing her suspiciously.

Abram paused his sketching when the mare moved a bit closer, watching her and wondering if he should move. he hesitated as she came closer, not trusting his instincts at reading the body language of unfamiliar animals but for some reason half convinced that she wasn't going to try and take a chunk out of him. Gal had been much, much different. Slowly he turned the page in the sketch book, done with the basic lines he'd put down on the previous page. She came close enough that he could have easily reached out and touched her. He kept his hands to himself though, pencil again scratching across the page as she lowered her nose to sniff at Kohl.
The husky mix bristled as he watched the mare approach, no longer able to keep seated. He rose to his paws, fluffy tail drooping farther with every step she took closer. As her head lowered he tucked his tail firmly between he legs, leaping back a few feet as if he expected a blow though she couldn't reach him through the fence. His blue eyes met hers, wary and suspicious. She didn't seem to offer a threat though and tentatively he took a step closer again, sniffing at her suspiciously.

((I've got a new character I was bringing in, someone who owns a racehorse and is looking to contract a jockey- her character isn't done being written yet- or I have Abram being spooked by Nevada Virtue. I'd be happy to rp with you with either ^.^))

Rivers scowled, hurling a pillow after Jordan as he shut the door. Jeez. She turned and flopped off the sofa, crawling across the floor to the TV set. "Hmmm. All Dogs Go To Heaven? It's old but it's the best," She asked while fumbling with the disk case.
Cat grinned. "Thanks!" She piped as she shifted in a way so that she now faced Ever on the couch. She didn't falter upon being asked what her story was, she'd been asked numerous times to tell her background and she was too open to be scared of doing so. "It's not the greatest one, really. I lived in Los Angeles but I didn't have a really good home. My parents fought constantly and my dad was just, a hardcore alcoholic." Her tone drifted slightly when saying the last sentence. "I eventually got into drugs, primarily Ecstasy, or MDMA, and weed. An aftereffect of the MDMA was that it could sometimes cause severe depression afterwards. I used it too much and often I was depressed. So I grew up a druggie and being sad, which wasn't good at all. This all started when I was in 8th grade," She carried on, seeming to stand strong as she kept speaking. "I tried to get happy by going to a lot of parties. They where never parties thrown by good people, and my so-called friends would have left me still at the place by morning. One time I passed out trying to cross a road drunk, on foot, and nearly got flattened by a car. I realized I had to stop, but my parents weren't going to do anything to help me stop the drugs. So one night I called my Aunt that lived up town, and she just came by and picked me up. My Aunt got legal custody of me and I was able to stop the drugs and the overall bad lifestyle." Cat smiled sheepishly when she finished. "It was a long story," She finished with a small smile, pulling her knees up to her chest. "You can tell me yours if you want, but I'm not forcing you." She offered Ever with the same warm smile. She felt a friendship sparking here, and she liked it a lot.

[Okay. She'll come out in a few xD]
Keely was curled up tightly on the couch, with a blanket wrapped around her thin body. She was sobbing quitly, but it was only audible if you were sitting right next to her. Clear tears streamed down her face, as she buried her face in her knees. Everything was unfair. Miguel was dead. Sasha was leaving. Jordan didn't want to be her friend, and she hadn't seen Blake in a while. At least Blake actually enjoyed her company. Tentatively, her face peeked ove rher blanket to glance around with red eyes. She sniffled, rubbing her face against the blanket so the tears would be rubbed off. She didn't know why she had decided to stay here after all. Mabye it was because she couldn't bring her horses with her.
