MERCEDES “SADIE” WILDE
”I couldn't see, how every sign, pointed straight to you...”
Mercedes Wilde, more commonly known around the facility as Sadie, is a twenty two year old racehorse jockey that stands at 5’3 and weighs between 105-110 pounds, depending on the day. Sadie is strong, for her slight figure, but she is well muscled, and can keep up with the male competition of the male dominated sport she participates in. The jockey has a slender, lithe figure, and lacks major feminine curves. Her legs are long, as are her arms, but her torso is rather short compared to her limbs. She has a flat stomach and a slightly arched back, and thankfully for her light frame, it makes it nearly perfect for her to race.
Sadie has a pretty face, with big eyes, full lips, high cheekbones, a straight jaw and nose, and a slight forehead. Her skin is lightly tanned, she’s still rather pale compared to other people, but if she wasn’t out in the sun all of the time, she would be white as white. Along her nose and cheeks, she has the faintest freckles, hard to make out, but if someone is close, they can see them sprinkled across the upper of her face. Sadie’s eyes are a beautiful, deep blue color. There is a ring of navy blue around her outer iris, and then fades to a lighter, ocean blue around her pupil. She has thick, naturally dark lashes that frame her pretty eyes, giving her a doe-eyed or innocent appearance.
Blonde, straight waves fall to the small of Sadie’s back. Her hair is an array of different lighter tones. From a few light brown highlights, to white blonde, her hair is naturally highlighted with the different hues that make up the golden halo that frames her face. She has swooping bangs that cover her right eye, but, normally, the jockey keeps her hair pinned back, especially her bangs, because she finds them annoying always flapping around in her face and obscuring her vision. She also hates the sensation of hair on the back of her neck, so more than often, you can find Sadie with a ponytail, messy bun, or her hair is back in a French braid.
From years of working with horses, living on a ranch, playing sports, and various other activities, Sadie has the scars to prove that she is a hard worker. While many are small and unnoticeable, she does have a few abnormalities on her skin that are. Under Sadie’s right eye is a long, silver scar. It was from one time when she was little and cut it on a sharp piece of leather saddle in the tack room on her ranch. Another one is a long, rather thick one on her knee and shin from her first racing accident from where her leg had been smashed and she’d had pins placed. Other than that, her hands are rather calloused, from years of working with them, they are still feminine and sort of soft to the touch, but are definitely tough.
Lastly, Sadie is a rather simple girl. She’s not all that into fashion, makeup, or concerned about the way she looks. She does, however, radiates natural beauty, and on very rare occasions, will wear makeup. The jockey is not fond of gaudy or expensive clothing, she prefers things that are comfortable and practical, say jeans and a t-shirt and her trusty, worn, black leather riding boots. In the summer and spring, you can find Sadie in shorts, a t-shirt, tank top, or sweatshirt, depending on how cool or hot it is outside. During the fall and winter, she is normally always wearing jeans, a t-shirt or her sweatshirt, and or, an extra coat if it is especially cold outside.
Overall, Sadie is a pretty girl, but doesn’t exactly acknowledge or know herself that she is. She’s unconcerned about her physical appearance, and by the way she does her hair and dresses sometimes, plays down on her natural looks. She strives for simplicity and comfort, and will only, on very special or rare occasions, dress up or do up herself for anyone else.
---
In general, Mercedes Wilde is a quiet, gentle person, with an inner strength that always shows in the toughest of times. Sadie is not one to express her feelings very well, or show much outward expression when it comes to herself. She is truly a unselfish person. She puts those she loves first, and sometimes, this can become a problem, as she often puts her own needs at bay to care for those around her. This, leading to one of her greatest fears, is hurting and disappointing those around her. She will often hold her tongue and opinions, finding that if she offends anyone, it will be her fault, and there will be some heavy consequence to pay. She is often worrying about others, and this unwilling desire to take care of herself can sometimes be her downfall.
