Nell nodded in agreement. "It is rather gross. The fog and the cold and the dry and the inversions. Gotta love Utah." She spoke quietly, nose wrinkled as she nodded. She had no idea if Colorado was anything like the high mountains of the Beehive State. She assumed they had to be familiar, both containing the rocky mountains. "Heh, he'll manage. We might just have to shovel his pen though." Nell cast a teasing glance at the stallion, even though there was no way that he would be able to understand her words. She turned back to Ryan and shrugged. "Yeah, sure. I was gonna make pasta or something. What sounds good to you?"

Quinn chuckled and gently tugged on the lead-rope-reins, and Shadowfax responded by slowing to a smooth, gaited canter. His pure tail became a banner in the air, weaving and dancing with the light breeze that Shadowfax's speed created. His mane bobbed and swayed with the nodding of his head. He was a mighty fine sight, a pure white against the forest green. Shadowfax rolled a right turn at Quinn's coaxing, and the pair headed back towards Tally and her nameless filly. He swung around them, falling into a smooth lope in time with Tally's filly, alongside the female pair. Quinn offered Tally a kind grin. "Told ya he was fast," he laughed, giving his horse's neck a nice pat and rub. Shadowfax shook out his mane a bit, craning his neck to gaze over at the forest they two horses and humans were hurtling towards.

"5'4," Anne answered with a disappointed frown as she stroked Crissy's neck, the white mare's black lips playing with the girl's shirt. She pushed the grey horse's nose back and turned to look at Harry, smiling softly. "Have you ever ridden a horse? Been around them?" She questioned, her fingers playing with Crissy's mane again. Her brown gaze closely locked on the taller male, arching a single brow as she examined what he was wearing subconsciously.

Harley ignored her, so much as looking in her direction before sprinting off and hearing many rustles that excited him. This was the life. The mutt followed scents and noises, madly pacing before he started chasing a rabbit farther into the woods with his nose dropped and tail high. The rabbit ran like mad, and when he lost it the dog tipped his head far to the side, before turning back and barking, tail waving in the air.

Ryan tipped his head in thought, as if it were the most difficult decision he'd ever be able to make. "Gosh...pasta? Yeah, that actually sounds really good. I haven't had good pasta in a long time." He commented and then ran a mischievous glance over Nell. "You can cook, right?" He followed her gaze toward Slate and shrugged as well. "I don't know. It might be good exercise if he's struggling in snow that comes up to his belly." He chuckled at the thought of that. "Can you imagine that? Come spring when he sheds, he might have lost more than just fuzz. Oh, and hey, are we trimming Apollo's feathers? They catch snow easily. They're just like Callie's fur when she goes out in the snow. She catches all these heavy clumps of snow." That isn't to say he would trim Callie's fur in winter. "Ah, never mind. His big ol' legs might get cold."

Nell raised an eyebrow at him. "Of course I can cook." She said, grinning wryly. "Well, at least I think I can. You can be the judge of that." She said quietly, eyes sparkling coyly. She bounced on the balls of her feet for a moment before she nodded and snorted softly. "The poor guy would be stuck. His legs are so short, he would, like... Die if the snow reached his stomach." She said quietly, eyebrows raising before she beckoned her friend to follow her. "C'mon. To the kitchen we go!" She let out an evil cackle before she spoke again. "Maybe we should. I mean, I wouldn't want snow clumps stuck to my feet..." She said, nodding once more. "Yeah, Rhett is the same way. He is always getting something or another stuck in his fur." She said, nose wrinkling at the thought. Her Irish Setter was mischievous, to say the least.

"What?" Harry asked in disbelief, not fully understanding Anne's inquiry. "Are you suggesting that I ride this one?" He shook his head out and fluffed up his curls, then using his hands and swishing them back into place. "I haven't ever ridden a horse. I don't plan to either." Harry didn't much like the thought of getting on top of an animal. He was comfortable just taking care of one and getting to know it, for now at least. He returned his attention to Bone and twisted his fingers throughout the short length of the foal's mane. The texture was real soft, and felt good on his skin. Eventually Harry's hand dropped and he looked back at Anne. He began to watch Anne just as closely as she was watching him, maybe staring somewhat inappropriately.
Pink shot off after Harley, now following his lead.

"Alright." Anne whispered simply, playing with Crissy's cheek and stepping aside as the horse dropped her head to crop a patch of grass. "I understand." She caught his wandering eyes gazing over her and scowled playfully at him, used to this behavior. "Stop that. I'm not here to entertain your eyes." Her brow arched at him and she patted her mare's shoulder, walking to Harry. The horse picked her head up and angled her ears towards Anne quizzically, before she dropped her head back down and wandered farther along the fence line to find a better grazing spot. "What do you wanna do now?" She queried as she leaned back onto the fence. shooort

"I've seen more than that, Anne," Harry reminded her, taking a step closer to where she was up against the fence. He looked down as he took hold of her tiny hand. He fiddled slightly with the fingers, finding himself intrigued by the soft texture of her skin. "Let's go swimming again. It's hot." Not even the cabins seemed to provide enough cool air to satisfy him. Getting out of his clothes and cooling off in some water sounded fine to him. "We could take the foal," Harry spoke again, referring to Bone. "I bet he would like the water. He must be hot as well, sitting out here all day." It was funny how dark Harry could be and yet how caring at times.

"We'll know it's bad if I keel over, gasping for air. Until then, I give you the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure your food is lovely." Ryan then pictured Slate up to his belly in snow. "Just so long as you put his food within reach of him, he'd be fine. He's hardy and tough, and with all that fat, he's probably good for a few weeks." Ryan chuckled. "How'd you let him get so fat, anyway?" He was leading the way back toward the pasture so they could bring the horses in to their stalls for the night. As he walked, Callie raced along, tail waving in the air. She sprang up near Ryan's hand, letting out her ever so slightly distorted bark. It didn't sound off, exactly, just a tad different than any other dog's bark. It was recognizable as her own.

Nell grinned wryly. "Hopefully I don't kill us both." She said, her smile tugging at her voice. She raised her eyebrows as she followed Ryan to bring the horses into the stables. She ran a hand through her long, auburn hair. She stifled a yawn and stopped by the gait, giving a low whistle for Fallen Ash and Banjo Melody, she had forgotten that she also needed to bring in the dark bay quarter horse. Soon enough, the mustang and ranch horse came trotting up. "Cause I couldn't touch him for such a long time. He just sulked in his pen and ate." She said quietly, shrugging as she grabbed onto the two horse's manes. She offered a faint smile to Ryan.
