Windy watched Nell and Slate carefully, curious at what the girl was doing with the strong stallion. She whinnied to Slate, letting the wind carry the high pitched call to the gray colored horse. Nell was a nice girl and she didn't want Slate to hurt her.
Min laughed, putting his hat on her head before sliding her hands into his back pockets. "Jake likes you, don't worry. He won't be too tough on you." she said with a teasing grin, green eyes sparkling in the sunlight. Her thick blond hair was hanging over her shoulders and the very soft breeze carried a few strands in it. She smiled at him, teeth pearly white against her sun kissed skin and light pink lip gloss. "So, miss me?" she asked, batting her eyelashes at him.

Eli raised his eyebrows and leaned lightly against her once again, smile wide, his white teeth flashing against his naturally tanned skin. He smirked before leaning in to steal a quick kiss. "Ah, he still scares me though." He said with a shrug, his hands pressed against her hip bones as he sighed quietly. "Of course I did. What kind of question is that?" He asked, frowning faintly as he disentangled himself to grab her hand and started walking, nowhere in particular, he was just feeling a bit restless and felt like moving about; maybe they could go to the lake.

Min smiled after the stolen kiss was broken. She looked down at her hand in his and noticed, not for the first time, how small her hand looked in his. Her smile softened and she looked forwards once again. "Well, I missed you too." She said quietly, her southern drawl pulling and shaping her words to make her sound like a true southern belle. She leaned lightly on his arm as they walked and spoke up again after a few moments o walking "So, whatcha wanna do? I've already unpacked all my stuff and brought my bathing suit if you want to go swimming. Or we could go for a ride?" She looked up at him, gaze soft and happy "I don't care. Whatever you want to do is fine with me."

Tally sat beneath an ancient oak tree with her legs brought up to her chest. Her eyes were blank as she stared out at the horizon. A piece of paper and an envelope lay beside her. Tear streaks ran down the length of Tally's cheeks. She had received a letter from her father and with his letter had come a gift, but that was not due to arrive till the next day.
Tally's locket glinted in the palm of her hand as she stared at the picture of her and her dad, before he was deployed. In the picture Tally was wearing a light blue knee length dress with a brown belt wrapped delicately around her torso just beneath her bust and brand new cowboy boots, though now they weren't so knew. Her dad had been in his desert fatigues. As soon as he left the country he would be place in the most dangerous zone. That picture had been taken a year ago and ever since Tally had received the locket she had never taken it off expect to clean it.

Quinn's soft, glittering eyes were gentle as he approached Tally; he could sense the sadness that plagued her heart, the sorrow that rolled off of her in waves. He simply walked over, his step smooth and easily, and he folded his form into a sitting position beside her, resting his back against the tree behind them. He let out a soft sigh as he was able to relax; it seemed he'd been on his feet all day, but he didn't mention his aching feet. Tally, he felt, needed only silent comfort and to know that as her friend, he'd be there if she needed a shoulder to cry on.

Tally turned her head to peer quietly at Quinn, without a word, she laid her head on his shoulder. Sobs wrecked her body softly, but no other sound left her mouth. She missed her dad and worried about him more than anything in the world. It would've been different if she knew that her father was safe riding a horse somewhere, but no he was risking his life in the most dangerous war zone.
Mali, who had not been far from her master, came bouncing back at the sight of Quinn. Protective barks left the young pup's mouth in a whirlwind of sound. No way was she letting her master get hurt on her watch. She snarled as she zeroed in on Quinn, before she could spring into his arms and tear him to shreds, Tally picked her up and petted her.

Quinn gave Tally's back a gently pat, his hand moving up and down in a comforting manner. "Sorry, Chica," he murmured. He started however, at the barking of Tally's pup, Mali. He grunted, twisting to avoid the brunt of the dog's teeth, but Tally intervened and pulled the dog into her arms before he could be attacked. "Thanks, chica. Saved me from a mauling, it seems."

(Will you take a look at it real quick? At the rate I'm going I'm should have it up tomorrow! ^^) Tally nodded, glancing down at the squealing mess of fur in her lap,"Who? This thing? She couldn't hurt a fly even if she tried."she said, teasing. A smile broke through her tears and she leaned back, her back scraping against the rough bark,"My dad wrote me. First time I've heard from him in 6 months. I can't really blame him though since he's overseas. It must be hard over there. Apparently I get a gift tomorrow. I'm kind of scared, though. I don't know what it is."

"I dunno," Quinn said, looking unconvinced. "She looked about read to rip my face off and devour it in the process. Jeez, violent little thing, isn't she?" He paused, his gaze shifting slightly towards the letter. "Hmm," he murmured. "Your father is fine, I'm sure." He was quiet again. "I bet he's sending you something awesome, something that holds meaning to both of you. That's something to be excited about, isn't it?" He bumped her lightly with his shoulder, smiling kindly.
