Nell pushed his nose away gently until she could put the buckets down, making sure the ground was level so they wouldn't fall over. "There you go, chubster. That's the last treat you are getting for awhile... You need to go on a diet." She said, nose wrinkling at the stallion before she leaned back against the pasture fence, gaze lazily trailing over the pen. She stifled a yawn and stood there while the stallion ate, figuring she'd take the buckets back to the stables after the grullo mustang stallion finished eating his dinner.

Anne watched Pink and Harley curiously, then glanced back at Harry. "Hmm. Well, that'll take some time. Depending on the first impression you give him. If you hit it off, I doubt you'll have a problem getting his trust. Now, if you spook him or something negative, depending how bad, seeing as he's a foal, it'd be a bit more complicated..." She shrugged, watching the baby horse. "I really haven't worked with many horses under two years of age. In fact, before Wasatch I didn't really own more than two or three total during my childhood." Anne watched him, then stood up. "C'mon. Let's go say hi to him." She held her hand out to the male. In all honesty, she had never expected him to show such interest in horses since he seemed like more of the city type, but nearly anyone could fall in love with the hobby. And of course, he was at a horse ranch - when you went to one you could expect a life around equines. He would likely need some sort of help though, seeing as a foal was very much untrained and a lot more work.

Harry stood up, then taking Anne's hand. He held onto it as he left the porch and approached the fence. He hoped that he could leave a good first impression on the animal, even though he didn't often with people. Stories had been spoken of around him enough for Harry to get the impression that animals were a lot different than humans. They seemed to be more forgiving and not as judging. He hoped Bone would have an abundance of these factors, as Harry certainly was not perfection or even close.
Harry let go of Anne's hand so she could work her magic freely and without restriction. He didn't know where to start and would need a good amount of instruction if he was to obtain the foal and then raise it properly. "I don't think he is very scared," He commented as he watched the foal trying to stick his head through the fence. Bone's white head bumped into the wood during the process. The fuzzy nose expelled a heavy breath, lips lifted up again to lip at what was there, that being a fence board. The baby's head was small enough for him to get most of it through the fence, big eyes looking up between Anne and Harry. Harry looked down on the peculiar animal before back at Anne.
Pink lunged at Harley, one leg managing to be slung over his shoulders with her free paw pushing into his fur. Her wet mouth devoured one of his ears as she mouthed on it. Pink really had a thing for ears. She mostly liked the velvety feel of it, and that on certain dogs the fur was sometimes really silky. Some slobber got Harley's ear fur sodden, Pink's tongue slippery as it squirmed across it, also teething some whenever she tugged at it.

Anne laughed at the foal's tactics to get across to them, grabbing Harry's hand again before lightly instructing the male's forefinger in gentle strokes across Bone's nose. Her brown eyes watched their hands closely as she had him pet his snout, looking up at the foal a time or two. " I don't think so either," She agreed, then dropped her touch and sidestepped so Harry could continue, looking up at him now and then to see his expression. A grin spread on her face and she leaned on the fence, glancing around the pastures for a familiar figure. She took her lower lip in between her teeth and found the white figure grazing lazily towards the back, croup facing the trio. The quarter horse mare was merely 14.3, so jumping her was out of the question. She was a great pleasure and trail horse though, and would be good for on-ground competitions.
Harley barked and yipped, doing a little hop as she jumped at him. When she gnawed on his ear, he leaned his head into the touch and narrowed his eyes a bit, before shaking her off and pouncing on her instead, ears perked as both his forelegs splayed across her back and he leaned on her. One yellow ear flicked to the side as he jumped off and crouched down, haunches stuck up high in the air in a playful manner.

It seemed that Slate had listened to what Nell said, for he only picked at his dinner, managing to eat all of the good bits and leave what he didn't care about behind. He ate less than half. Nell wouldn't be able to take the bucket back then. Instead, lips stick from the fruit, he stepped closer to investigate Nell's shirt, staring accusingly at her. She'd stopped to pet a horse, or a horse had nudged her. Cruel woman. She was his herd member, no one else's. If she didn't begin to accept that, he'd not allow her to go play with the others. If he couldn't be protective over a mare, he'd be protective over Nell.

[Uh-oh... That's a bad Slate D:]
Nell patted his neck when he came over to investigate her shirt, eyebrows furrowing for a moment. She had stopped to let Ash into the pasture when she had gotten Slate's dinner. She gazed back, before her green gaze flickered to the ground. She stifled a yawn before looking back towards the stallion. "What? Why are you looking at me like that? Huh? Did I do something wrong?" She tipped her head slightly, eyes scanning his body language for any indicator of why he seemed so... Offended.

[I'll start x3] [Tally would be interesting xD]
The Lord of all horses was gently bound by the crossties in his stall, his pure white head bobbing lightly. The light dusting of gray on his nose was quite comical, his warm eyes watching the people that passed curiously. A phantom hand appeared, patting the horse's muscular neck once or twice. Quinn, who was Shadowfax's 'human' murmured something soft and loving to the horse before returning to brushing out Shadowfax's coat.
He brushed away the white hairs with reverence, as a purely white horse was indeed rare. Quinn loved the stallion whom he called Shadowfax, and treated him with the greatest care. Quinn worked out the tangles and burrs in the white horse's mane and tail gently, as if the slightest tug would bring unspeakable pain to the horse. After a few moments, Shadowfax's coat, mane and tail gleamed in all of their pure brilliance.

Slate arched his neck in response, stepping closer and nudging her shoulder, albeit a bit roughly. It had appeared almost affectionate, but then the look in his eyes stated otherwise. He circled her and nudged her toward the opposite fence, away from the pasture. There was no horse for him to fight with over Nell, but he was clearly saying that she belonged to him. Agitation showed in his movements, hooves kicking up dirt even as he only walked. The grullo stallion finally had his point made and blew into her face, a gesture he'd done only once or twice before.
[Short, because you are doing short posts, too.]

Tally smiled as she entered the stables, an unlikely pair following closely behind her, a tiny mutt and a huge beautiful filly. The filly had a gorgeous white coat with black spots all over her body and stunning icy blue eyes. The mutt was adorable in its own right, it had the biggest floppy ears, energetic green eyes, and a white fluffy coat. A giggle escaped the girl's mouth, her eyes wondered down the hall as she quickly placed the filly in the cross ties. She absolutely loved her new horse. She had been chosen yesterday night and she still couldn't control her excitement.

Nell frowned when he knocked into her shoulder, knowing that it wasn't an affectionate gesture. She rocked back on her heels, refusing to move when he wanted her to go to the other side of the pen. "I'm not one of your mares, Slate. Knock that off." She spoke calmly, even though the stallion wouldn't be able to understand her, there was a commanding tone in her voice. She stayed put. She wasn't going to let the grullo mustang stallion boss her around. "I'm in charge here. You should know that, huh? I'm the one who brings you your food and water." She said, glaring at Slate for a moment before she backed up a few paces, nearing the gate. If things got ugly, she'd likely just dive over the fence. She leaned back against the fence, eyeing Slate warily in case he decided to get a bit rougher.
