Adam rubbed at his eyes and nodded. "Just heartburn. It's fine. I forgot to take something. Do you have Juicy Fruit gum? For some reason, that stuff actually seems to work. It's really weird." He had some upstairs but didn't feel like running up to fetch it. "Sorry to say but your baking powder in water thing does not help. It's an awful mixture," He wrinkled his nose in disgust at the thought.
Celestial Zephyr was still acting out, pacing around and kicking out now and then at his stall door. He eventually lay in the straw, rolling now and then with discomfort, nose flaring and eyes rolling. His cherry bay coat was lathered and he let out a pained cry, throwing himself to his feet once again. Where was Adam? He called out before biting at his own belly. He was clearly distressed. Adam still didn't come. However, the stallion started at the sight of Stacy. He hesitated a moment before pinning his ears and biting at his belly again. It hurt!

Stacy watched him then read his name plate and went over into the office of the stable. She glanced around for an intercom or some type of phone. She soon found one said. "Would the owner of Celestial Zephyr please come to the stable." She hoped it would get to someone, and that it worked.

Ever's concern grew as she took in Aiden's current state. She frowned just the slightest bit, but decided not to push it."What's her name?"she inquired and tilted her head toward the mare. She glanced at Aiden,"I smell alcohol. You're drunk aren't you?"she asked. Ever wasn't one to beat around the bush, so inquiring about the mare had been a shock.
She sighed and sagged against the stable door, letting her weight fall completely on the door."What did you drink? Got any left?"she asked, she hadn't drink since she had been out of rehab and she didn't plan on drinking anytime soon. It messed with her head and she didn't enjoy the feeling. Ever just wanted to get him away from the poisonous drink. She knew how bad alcoholism went. She herself was alcoholic and it was a constant struggle for her not to pick up a bottle and start drinking.

Sadie's eyebrows furrowed for a moment in thought. "Er... I think I might have some in my bag." She got up quick to grab it from one of the chairs in the kitchen before she raised an eyebrow. She spent a moment looking through the messenger bag before handing over the gum before responding. "Yeah... It really is disgusting." She said with a wrinkled nose as she leaned back against the couch and let her head rest on his shoulder. "Why am I so tired?" She mumbled, eyes closing for a moment as she let out a soft breath.
[Sorry, finishing something.]

Skya bit down on her lip and blew a sigh through her slim proboscis, tongue protruding ever so slightly in concentration as she got to work on braiding Culver's silky black tail. The stallion was clipped up and shifted here and there, getting bored and hanging his head as far as the ties would let him, brown eyes beginning to droop. In, in, in, in. She thoughtfully reiterated as she put a different piece in the middle of the other two to form an ongoing pattern. It made a beautiful, long, thick plait that fell along his ebony back legs, and she closed it off before scooting the stool out from under her and away.
Straightening up, her small hand rubbed along his rump so he knew she was there as she made her way around, switching the cross ties out for her lead rope. The broken in leather was coiled up and held loosely in her fingers, her free hand brushing his forelock around to make him look more handsome, admiring the star he comprised. His mane was recently cropped and downy soft, having a clean appearance to it. The tangles had been undone for now, fur vacant of the cockle burrs and grass pieces until he rolled around next. Silly horse.
Shayke It had begun competing in show jumping only a few months ago, so far winning some thirds, seconds and even first place ribbons. He hadn't been in that many competitions yet, but he was already mastering the new sport, almost as good at it as he had been at racing. It was just as fun as the track, if not more. Skya was holding him to his full potential, he'd worked hard and the competent horse had been nearly finished in his training after only the first few weeks of lessons. It was an understatement to say Skya was a proud owner.
{Anyone got a free character?}

Adam gratefully took the gum and began to chew it. "I should bring Zoey upstairs so she's not left on the couch all night," He said quietly, glancing toward the little girl. He'd carry her up. However, when the phone rang and he answered, his expression altered. "Sadie, would you be able to do that? I need to get to the stables. Something's up with Zeph." He said quickly, grabbing his hoodie and throwing it on to ward off the chill. It was only a cool evening, but to him, it was freezing. He jogged off into the night.
[Yes, my Zeph is colicking. :C And sorry, Leo. I mean, technically Miguel is free but it's hard to keep up with so many people.]

Sadie just nodded and and picked up the sleeping Zoey gingerly, holding her on her hip as she watched Adam run out of the bunkhouse. Her eyebrows furrowed and she was quick to go and put the sleepy little girl to bed. She made sure Zoey was set, at least for a few minutes, before she came back downstairs and slipped out into the evening, wondering what was going on in the stables. She brushed her hair out of her eyes, appraising the dark landscape when it met her wide, pretty eyes.
She crossed the stable yard quickly and didn't seem to mind the cool air. It wound through her long, golden hair and pinches her cheeks rosy. Sadie slid into the stables and followed Adam, stopping next to him. "Put Zoey in bed... What's going on?"

Adam had entered the stables, having no time to give an answer to Sadie about what was wrong. He didn't know yet. "You called about Zeph?" He asked breathlessly, already opening the stall door. "Easy, bud...shh, easy. Could someone call Jeff? Uh, the vet." He clarified, forcing himself to take a deep breath to relax. Zeph hadn't been welcoming of his attention since he'd been stolen months ago and returned. He hadn't handled contact well. So when he shoved into Adam, burying his nose into his side, Adam was surprised. He murmured soothingly as he grabbed for the halter. "I need a lead rope." He could only assume this was colic that plagued his horse. It was dangerous and if the horse went down, he might not get back up. "Easy, bud. We'll get through this. Just stay up. You'll be fine. C'mon." What if the Triple Crown Winner couldn't beat colic?

Stacy nodded as Adam neared. "Yes, I called about him." She answered watching the colt. "He neighed loudly and was pacing, then he'd lay down and get back up and nip at his sides. I think he has colic." She said, standing back a few feet, not wanting to get in the way. She glanced over to the girl that accompanied Adam and nodded a greeting to her before turning her attention back to Zeph and Adam.

Sadie watched the cherry bay Triple Crown Winner and the jockey for a moment before she disappeared down the way to grab a lead rope. "I'll call a vet." She said almost immediately. She reconized the signs that Zeph was showing as Colic. She'd dealt with a lot of horses that had gone through this, and it was always a good thing to have a vet on hand in case things went downhill. She handed the lead rope over to Adam before pulling her cell phone out. She dialed the local vet's number. It took a few rings for them to answer, and she explained the situation quietly before hanging up. "The vet is on his way, will be here in a few minutes." She informed Stacy and Adam, eyebrows furrowing. She didn't recognize Stacy, and studied the girl for a moment before her blue gaze rested on Zeph and Adam.
