Zoey giggled, watching as Sadie took off. She sat down on Adam's shoe and wrapped her short arms and legs around his leg, refusing to let go as she looked up at him with her big eyes. "I love you Uncle Addy." she squeaked with a big grin on her face, the freckles on her nose popping as the sunlight hit them.
Ethan was brushing down French Girl, it taking longer then necessary since the mare kept knocking the brushes into the hay that bedded down the stall. "Stop that!" Ethan muttered, pushing the mare's white nose away from his hair. She then started to chew halfheartedly on his shirt collar, then moved to the sleeve a few moments later. "Stop it Frenchie!" Ethan muttered, getting flustered by the mare's constant chewing.

Adam let out a soft laugh. "Where you trying to tickle me? I'm not ticklish there!" He called out before lowering his gaze to where Zoey was. "Should we go chase Aunt Sadie?" He wasn't about to abandon the little girl and was rather confused on Sadie's strange mood swing. One moment she was all upset and confused about racing and the next, she was trying to pry information from him. Suddenly she was racing off like a child. Was this all from her subderal hematoma? When he heard the little girl's voice, he grinned. "Love you, too, kiddo."
Miguel's eyes flashed angrily in response to Ever's accusation. "I was not mean when I said that. You were just looking for a fight and heard what you wanted. I said I did not have a grooming kit because I had no horses. I suggested asking another jockey. So excuse me if that comes across as an attitude." He shook his head in irritation and began to turn. "Maybe you should get to know who I am now instead of who I was."

Sadie slowed to a jog before doubling back to stand a few yards off from Adam and Zoey, her eyebrows raised and she was slightly out of breath. She was known to have mood swings, or be confused or groggy some times. Her head injuries hadn't left her unscathed, and it showed at times, especially when she was stressed or had to think a lot, which was as of lately. She heaved a sigh and offered a small smile to her boyfriend and the medic's child. "I thought you said you were ticklish everywhere." She shot back, leaning back on her heels before rocking forward to the balls of her feet. She stifled a yawn, even though it was just starting to be evening. She didn't exactly feel tired, but didn't mention that a headache was coming on. She sighed quietly again, glancing down at Zoey.

Alexander studied Vanilla Twilight closely. "My colt is three, too. The Might Fitz. Big gray roan colt. What surface does your filly run on?" He was curious to know if the two might ever come across one another in races. Fitz was good with speed, though he was working on stamina, too. The colt was a mudder through and through, but could handle turf decently as well. It seemed the worse the track, the better he functioned.
"Nope. Definitely not ticklish everywhere. Sorry, love." Adam scooped Zoey up with difficulty, trying get her to loosen her grip so he could set her up on his truck hood. He would make sure she didn't get hurt while perched up on his trusty old truck. "Getting tired there?" He teased, indicating her yawn with a soft sound of amusement. He was about to go visit his horses and bring them in from the pastures.

Sadie nodded slowly, eyebrows furrowing for just a moment as she appraised Adam and Zoey. She cracked a faint smile. "A little. It's been a long day." She said quietly, crossing her arms. She needed to bring LuLu in as well. The pretty little cherry bay filly was a handful, kind of all over the place, and spunky. She was rather sweet, but not exactly the smartest. She didn't follow cues and just wanted to go roll in the pasture or go for a long run on the trail. She didn't want anything to do with the track or the starting gate, the the indoor arena. Sadie shoved her hands into her pockets and stifled another yawn. She didn't want to go inside, it was too nice to go inside. It was the perfect weather of fall, when it wasn't hot, and it wasn't cold. It was just perfect, and it was her favorite time of year.

Twilight watched Alexander closely, eyeing him and snorting softly as she stamped a hoof. Stacy nodded. "Sweet" She smiled then answered. "She runs on dirt, but can run on turf if needed." She said stroking Twilight.

Ever recoiled back as if he had slapped her. Shock and hurt clouded her gaze. "I knew you then and I know you now. You're the same person. The only difference is my love has grown for you. You might not think that, but it has. You're my best friend and you always have been. God, I hate fighting with you. But if you haven't learned it by now you probably won't ever. I'm a spitfire like it or not and my voice will be heard."she replied to his back, no hint of emotion in her voice. She turned and headed for the kitchen.
A whirl of emotions muddle Ever's thoughts as she splashed water on her face to calm down. She dried her face off and than she began to rummage through the fridge for a snack.

Alexander grunted as he leaned back against a stall door. His small, 5'1" frame relaxed faintly and his sharp silvery gaze ran over the girl and her horse. "She seems like good horse. She likes you." He commented, rubbing a hand along his left eye. He was getting a headache but they were common for him. "She might go against Fitz one day..."
Adam shrugged and waved Sadie toward the bunkhouse. "Go eat something and get some rest. I can bring LuLu in and settle her down in her stall for the evening if you want," Adam offered, playing with an object in his pocket. His navy blue eyes were suddenly distant as he recalled another time, a few short years ago, talking to Mike about it. He had always been able to talk to Fletch about anything. The man had been his best friend. It still hurt that he was gone.
What the hell had just happened? How had this stupid fight started? She had ruined his shirt and then mistaken his comment for a fight. She clearly needed to go cool off. He wasn't doing anything. Was he? He didn't understand how Ever knew him before his accident and then claimed to know him now, too? It was confusing him. He didn't know himself well enough. He sank down and raked his hand through his hair.

Sadie's eyebrows furrowed and she hesitated. "No, it's fine. I'll settle her. She can get a bit nippy at night." She heaved a sigh afterward and brushed her bangs out of her eyes. "Thanks though." She said quietly and took a few steps and brushed her lips to Adam's. "Thanks for everything..." She trailed off, eyebrows furrowing at his distant expression. "What's up?" She asked, knowing something was bothering him, if only slightly. She blinked a few times and shifted back slightly so she could see his expression fully.

Stacy smiled and nodded, "Thank you." she said yawning a bit, tired. "Yes, she does, she isn't too fond of others though." She admitted, remembering how the filly had bitten and kicked other workers at their previous home. She kinda shrugged though then nodded. "Perhaps." she said softly then asked. "Do you know where there are two open stalls for them?"
