Standing just off to the side of the entrance to the building was a Canis. He almost didn't appear to be one, decidedly different than most of the others. While he was dressed impeccably - a suit and tie were his usual attire - something about his posture and expression wasn't quite right. He seemed rather uncomfortable, unwilling to allow himself to be drawn into the crowd. He didn't sway to the pulsing music or slip through the crowds to order a drink. He merely observed with cold blue eyes. His wiry, leanly muscled frame was unusually tense, wound up as if he were prepared for some sort of action, the need to defend himself or drive into motion after someone. A rather attractive woman, dressed scantily, slid past him, casting a flirty look her way as she swayed along. He leaned away from the woman by a fraction of an inch, averting his gaze and lip curling in the faintest as if something particularly foul had just been offered to him.

Oddly enough, Whitney, once they had reached the middle of dance floor, where sweaty bodies pressed and moved against each other, reached down and tugged her heels off. She threw them into the crowd, and heard the faintest groan echoing against the ever loud and ever present music. She turned back to Louis, her smile wide, beautiful, and vicious. The alcohol, with the mix of dancing bodies, and pounding music, had her in a drunken stupor. She leaned toward him, never breaking eye contact, until their faces were only a couple inches apart. "Let's see if you can dance, pretty boy." She sneered, just loud enough to hear before she began to move. The music seemed to hum through her as she pounded her bare souls against the sticky, gross ground. She didn't seem to care though, like she was lost in another world through the dance. When she twirled once, her layered hair splayed out in the colorful lights. She caught a glance of one of them. Immediately, her heart began to race, but she continued to dance, eventually grabbing Louis's wrist and pulling him closer, hoping for a distraction from the Canis.

Britton gave her a quizzical look, but followed nonetheless. "Where are we going?" he queried. Falling into step beside her, his gaze found hers as he stuffed his hands back in his pockets.
--
"All the time," Levi shrugged, coughing into his hand. He eyed Carter curiously, then crossed his ankles and murmured something inaudible. Sweat lined his hairline from the hot air of the club, and he groaned, wanting to go home. Glancing at Preston and Georgia, he watched the two leave the bar to go hit the dance floor, leaving it just Carter and him, and of course, the other people scattered across the stools.
--
Louis didn't seem to see her brief faltering, but he remained idle, cracking a grin when she called him 'pretty boy'. His blue eyes brightly watched her dance, gaze never leaving her as the alcohol previously consumed took over him. He tipped his head the slightest, smirking as he was tugged closer and putting his hands on her hips briefly. Unlike the bodies around them, he kept a couple inches between him and her, still having a bit of respect swirling through his clouded mind. The twenty-one year old's eyes were a little hazy, a goofy look on his face as he moved with her. And if one were observing him enough, you could say he had quite the skilled, graceful movements.

Whitney's head was filled with a buzzz, and electricity that ran through the top of her head down to the tips of her toes, thrumming, swirling. She was so... Alive. Even though everything was a bit cloudy, there was also the side where she saw everything in a different perspective, the way Louis's eyes glinted, the lights, the rhythm of the beating music, her pulse hammering in her head. This is what they were talking about when they said Las Vegas was addicting, especially at night, and when drunk, everything was steaming and brilliant, and wonderful, but it was also sadistic, and malicious, beneath the superficial, beautiful facade. Whitney knew too well the horrors that lay under the strobe lights and beer-stained smoke. A girl had to eat, and she did what she could to survive the strip. Tonight was one of those nights she was just letting everything go, dancing away her worries with some stranger, who thankfully, seemed to respect her, at least a little bit, and though, she wasn't clear on his intentions, didn't seem to really, badly want to bed her at the moment.

"You're a good dancer," Louis spoke up, grabbing her hand randomly and whirling her in a circle. He bit his lip and suddenly looked around, gaze flashing a little before returning his attention to Whitney. He couldn't seem to understand what went through her mind right now, but didn't seem to care. The male didn't know his intentions with this flirting and dancing with the blonde showgirl. Perhaps at the end of the night they'd bid goodbye and only ever see each other again upon pure coincidence. He had no idea. He was just having fun; living the moment, as many would say. Suddenly, his mind went to his home back in Doncaster. The green scenery, how rainy the weather in England was. He recalled London, and all the other places he'd visited in the United Kingdom; his trip to Ireland that one summer in high school. He bit down on his lip as suddenly, he began to think about how much he missed his family, his sisters and would love to visit one day... And, a strange sensation came over him, like a haze. Wait, he paused in his thinking, Why would I want to leave this place ever? It's all I've ever dreamed of, I can't leave... he didn't seem at all fazed by the force that had changed his mind, the little reasoning and compelling that had made him decide he didn't want to leave the streets of Las Vegas, not even to simply visit his family. Louis, of course, being a newly resident of Vegas, was completely oblivious to the devious, criminal plans going around in front of his very own blue eyes. Lost in his thoughts, his mind worked on a few other subjects and a genuine, subconscious grin spread on his face at a memory as a little boy, his body movements natural an instinctive as he didn't even think about his dancing, losing himself in the moment and the dance floor.

How do the Canis know when the people begin to grow immune and whatnot? Like...is Malik, my Canis, supposed to take action now? Like...stalk Louis and try to convince him this place is good to be or attempt to kill him? You two didn't make that part very clear. I'm not sure what the Canis are supposed to do. (But Malik's going to be bad for a bit and then figure out that he doesn't like what's going on, if that's okay)

I know, I know, I will just write up something tomorrow explaining a Cani and add it myself... Like I said, they're human. But they're really smart and keen and hidden and observant, so if they notice people hesitating when looking at them, or if they notice people looking suspiscious, they'll note it and study that person a little more, not exactly follow them on the street and stalk them though. Now, if people start to question them or they see one of the men perhaps talking about their plans or doing something criminal like the Canis always are, that's when a Cani will act. They like killing, they have a bloodlust, but they're not allowed to just randomly kill a civilian. But it's not uncommon for someone to become immune to the chemicals, so there are a lot more murder than people really notice...
If that covers it?
