Ember's brow furrowed as she stood in one grace motion. Her speed was her advantage and she knew it, but this time she didn't dare attack. She simply fell back in the crouch and did as she was told. She had a feeling he couldn't handle her attitude and Ember had decided she would take it easy on him. She sighed as she did it over and over again, wanting for him to make the appropriate corrections. Her mind wandered to the Summit and worry wrecked her body. She hoped her father was okay.
Sarafina tilted her head,"Whatever my masters ask of me."she replied, an energetic smile on her face. She was willing to do whatever it took to please them. They had given her salvation and she wanted them to know she was ever so grateful and willing to do whatever task they gave her.

[she leaned against him lol]
Fane's jaws once more split wide in a yawn and he bobbed his head in greeting to his fellow Priciolici as Jaci exited the Pack House and sat herself down next to him.
Malachi hesitated. Her blind eagerness was refreshing, and fascinating, and he was terrified he'd shatter it by asking her to do something violent. "How fast are you?" he finally asked, settling on testing her speed. It was safe enough so that she most likely wouldn't get hurt, and her spirit wouldn't be broken. Malachi was determined to keep her spirit intact for as long as possible.
"Unole is fine," Alfar scolded, seeing that look pass her face. "He's smart and knows how to negotiate. Now, focus. Your crouch has improved. Would you like to try sparring?" He could tell that she was getting bored - the look that was passing her face was one of sheer boredom.

Sarafina tilted her head,"I don't know. I've never tested it before. I know it takes me a little less than a minute to run a mile. Is that normal?"she inquired, smiling brightly. She was eager to test her agility and her strength. Her eyes shone with excitement as she wondered what the day would bring her and her newfound powers.
Ember nodded, but still she had that nagging sensation in her stomach. She peeked up as soon Alfar mentioned the word sparring."I'd love too."she said, standing up from her crouch. Her lips twitched back in a snarl, finally she could voice her frustrations in something other than words. A smile danced on her lips as she waited, she dropped once more in the crouch. She wondered who would strike first.

"Yes," Malachi responded with a smirk. "Though you should gain a bit of speed as you age. Watch." Quicker than the blink of an eye, he'd zipped half a mile away and returned to the same position, leaning against the same tree. He gave a half-smirk and huffed at Sarafina.
Alfar smoothly fell into a crouch, eyes focused on Ember. He become still as the dead, his muscles refusing to twitch. His breath seemed to quiet, his blue eyes focused with an odd, yet strangely controlled, intensity. He waited.
Jai was utterly stunned as he and Unole once more stepped onto the private jet. "What just happened?" he asked softly. "Costin just declared our doom," Unole said grimly. He sank into the seat, staring ahead. "What are we going to do?" "We fight. Until the end of our days, when the sun sets on the Schimba people, when there is naught left but the spirits of our people, we will fight."

Ember took a deep breath and just waited, her eyes never left his. After several long moments, she sprang, but not directly at him. She knew she wouldn't win trying to fight him head on. He had strength while she had speed and she would use it her advantage. She was a blur as she landed on his left side and her leg shot out. Her body twisted around as she kicked out his ankle.
Sarafina shot forward, her speed was similar to Malachi, but she was not quite as fast. She stopped just before him once more,"Race?"she suggested, a playful smile appeared on her lips as she danced around Malachi. She began to poke him as she danced around the Strigoi,"You scared?"she taunted. Her teasing prominent as she smiled.

Alfar rolled to the side with Ember's kick, on his feet in an instant. Before she could respond he'd lunged, slammed the flat of his hand against her cheek, and rolled out of the way of her retaliation. He waited once more, watching her carefully. His gaze seemed to focus on her muscles, allowing him to predict when she would strike and attempt to attack. Of course, he'd be ready; he always was. His eyes widened when the soft sound of footsteps reached his ears and he pivoted on one foot, meeting the stern gaze of Unole. "My lord," he spluttered, bowing his head. "She - I - we..." "Silence." Unole turned his gaze to Ember. "What is this?" he asked bluntly. "Is there a particular reason that your guard just punched you in the face?
Malachi huffed. "Very well. To the Atlantic ocean and back?" he suggested, raising a single eyebrow.

Ember smiled,"Daddy your alright!"she cried, starting to run toward him. She paused midway and seemed to think it was better if she just stood there."Huh? Oh that? Well umm.. We were sparring. He's training me or he was until you got home and I talked to you about it."she said, shrugging her shoulders. She fought the urge to run up to her dad and hug him."Mom told me to ask. She said I needed the training and that the tides were turning."she murmured, bowing her head. She knew her father probably wouldn't take that answer well, but she wanted him to know.
Sarafina nodded and took off, laughing softly. She didn't dare look back to see if he was following, she just kept running.

The look in Unole's eyes was hard and furious. "This is not a time for petty games," he growled in warning, spearing Alfar with his gaze. "We are at war."
Jai stared at the easel before him, his green eyes carefully studying the smooth dips and rises of the canvas. Absently, he reached one hand forward and ran his calloused hands across the surface, releasing a soft sigh. He picked up the brush, and began to paint.
The scene that stretched itself before him was the epitome of peace and beauty. It was a gentle scene, a scene that seemed to tell stories of rolling hills and gentle seas; of silver-sand beaches and cascading, silver-watered waterfalls; of powerful, old trees reaching into the skies to kiss the air, of the sunlight casting gentle dapples onto the forest floor below. It was a world untouched by man, suspended in time. It was a land of legend and peace, once that Jai knew in his heart existed but had not yet seen. He continued to sing the wordless tales of this place, this Shan-gri-la.

Ember's eyes narrowed just the slightest and it was the only hint that Ember was furious."Yes, my king. I'm sorry, my king."she muttered as bowed her head to her father. Her skin prickled as she heard the word war leave her father's lips. So her mother had been right when she had talked to her in dreamland. Ember had need her mother's presence and her wisdom and her mother had answered her pleas. "Excuse me, my king, I have business to attend to. Alfar may stay with you if you like. I'm going over to Jai's."she murmured, her voice quiet.

"Very well," Unole said. "Alfar. Back to the home. We need to start planning. Come." Unole turned and headed back towards the Tribe Home, and Alfar, with one last glance at Ember, turned and trudged after Unole. He did not look back.
Jai sat back, satisfied with the scene on the canvas before him. He lifted the easel and placed it in a warm patch of sunlight so that it might dry faster and gathered up his supplies, heading towards the sink in the bathroom on the second floor. His studio was in the attic, of course, and Jai was thinking about installing an industrial sink up there so he didn't have to trudge up and down the stairs. It was annoying.
Malachi zipped after Sarafina, pulling ahead of her. He zigzagged through the forests and towns, moving too fast for the mortal eye to follow.
