<sub>Unole huffed. "Of course she did," he chuckled. "She's got the guards that dote over her cooking to choose from." He sighed, standing. "Indeed it is time for training," he said with a sigh. He paused and sent out a mental call to his guards and to Alec to report to the Southern clearing. He nodded, satisfied. "Let us go to the Southern Clearing. We'll begin the training there, and at least we'll be together to fight off the Strigoi should they attack. The home is protected by a magic barrier, and the damned Strigoi, Cibarium and Nephilim will not be able to push themselves upon the Schimba who will remain here. They will be safe, as will we." He nodded again, starting for the doorway.

<sub>Ember nodded as she followed after her father, her hand still clasped tightly around Jai's. She didn't know how to describe it, she was excited, but not. She was excited to finally have her father train her, but she didn't like the circumstances at all. She sighed as she leaned her head against Jai's shoulder once more as they headed for the clearing.

Sarafina turned to look him in his eyes,"What are life mates? And do I have one?"she asked, she heard often tales of them, but she didn't exactly understand what they were.</sub> ( sorry short about to eat)

<sub>Malachi hesitated. "Life-mates are... a rare thing. How to explain them?" he sighed. "Your life mate - and yes, you do have one; but finding him will be near impossible - is quite literally the other half of your soul. Jai gave his mate's hand a slight squeeze. "It's alright," he said softly. "Nothing's gonna hurt you - not while I'm around. Don't worry, little one. We'll keep you safe, and we'll keep the Schimba people safe as well. There's nothing to fear."</sub>

Peony opened the door, balancing the silver tray on her arm as she opened the door. She tripped and almost spilled the glass of water, but quickly regained her balance and saved the water glass. "H-Heres your food." she said, eyes focusing on his.

<sub>Sarafina nodded, her eyes thoughtful. She sighed and than began to bounce on her toes."Rare?"she whispered. She wish it wasn't rare. For once in her life she just wanted to feel loved. Her dark past haunted her and she hated it.

Ember punched his arm,"I'm not little and don't you make me prove it either,"she grinned,"I'm not scared for me. I'm scared for my people. I'm scared for their lives. I'm scared for the orphans that will come from this war. I'm scared there will be no one left. I'm scared for everyone."she whispered, Byron her head in his shoulder."Don't act like everything is gonna be okay. War is coming and it may be the end of us all."a single tear rolled down her cheek, but she quickly swiped it away. She didn't want to seem weak infront of her father and Lauren.</sub>

<sub>Malachi nodded slowly. "Rare indeed," he responded, "though this generation of Schimba seem to be particularly lucky. I hear tell that the Schimba princess has found her mate."

Jai huffed, wrapping his arms around her. His eyes grew dark, and Jai became the brooding person that he often was. He did not speak aloud. You needn't worry, Jai murmured, myself and my guards will do every single thing we can to keep the Schimba safe. We will not end here, cherie. We will not give up and we will not surrender. Jai rested his chin on Ever's head, letting out a soft sigh. He knew she was worried, and he knew she was scared, but he was not going to let anything happen. Not a thing. Jai knew his own worth, and he knew his own power, but was it enough? It would have to be.</sub>

_{Ember nodded soundlessly, choosing instead to draw some comfort from her mate. She hid her face in his shoulder as she pulled herself together. She didn't want any of the warriors to think her weak. She would do anything and everything to protect them and their families. Another sigh left her and she broke away from him. She glanced around, as the warriors soon appeared. (Sorry short..)}

Ashton headed towards the Southern Clearing, the buff guard ready to watch the little princess train. He thought it would be quite ammusing to watch Ember fight. He didnt doubt her strength one bit, knowing how powerful her father is, but doubted she knew how to use the power to its full potential or how to control it. No doubt she was going to land on her rear a few times, but it was a learning experience. Ashton had been a guard to Unole and the Schimba for a while now, he had watched Ember grow from a child to a young lady, as much as a lady as Ember could be, that is. He was 26 in human years, his strong body showing he was in his prime. He had dark blue eyes and dark brownish blond hair that was cut short and spiked in the front, usually wearing a tshirt and jeans though he did opt for cargo shorts often as well. Today he was wearing a snug white tshirt and dark blue jeans, his boots making soft thud noises on the floor as he walked through the house to go outside. He paused, wondering where Lauren was, before shaking his head and moving on.

<sub>You'll be okay, Jai encouraged, gently nudging Ember forward. He shifted his gaze to Ashton and tilted his head in greeting. As one of the senior guards, Jai knew ever single Schimba who guarded the Schimba race. Now that all the Schimba had arrived, he stepped forward, rolled one shoulder, and narrowed his green eyes. Jai had yet to be defeated by any of Unole's guards.

Unole's soft voice caught the attention of every Schimba. "I thank you all for coming here at my call," he said, meeting the gaze of all of his Schimba. "If you are not aware, the Strigoi have declared war on us, and the Cibarium and Nephilim have sided with them. We have an ally in the Priciolici, but we must be ready." The Schimba king took a long breath and exhaled. "I calle you here today to ready yourselves, to train."

Lauren shifted nervously in her place next to Ember as Unole began to speak. She bit the inside of her cheek, constantly checking for Alec. He was pissed at her, and she wouldn't put it past him to ask to pair up with her just to beat the hell out of the poor cook.</sub>

<sub>Ember stood at her father's right hand side, her eyes scanning the faces of her fellow Schimba, her head was lifted with pride. She looked...regal. She smiled as her eyes fell upon her best friend, Lauren, and her mate, Jai. Her smile vanished though when she saw Alec stepped up beside their father on his left hand side, a cruel smirk on his face. She sighed, Enough with your schemes, Alec. You will listen to me. I am the heir and you will not touch Lauren. she hoped her message got through to him, but she doubted it.

Alec's snarl tickled Ember's mind, he was not please with his sister and her attitude. He glanced at Lauren, his eyes narrowing. You're not getting away with what you did. he snarled.

Sabine stood beside Lauren, like Lauren she was a cook, and one of the princess's best friends.</sub>
