<sub>Lauren shrugged, and attacked in a blur. She was small, and used that to her advantage. She struck him square in the chest, wrestled him to the ground, and pressed her forearm into his throat. She grinned. "I'm not just a cook, Mister. Ember is my best friend, y'know. I do learn a few things here and then." She grinned again and jumped off of Ashton, skittering back a few feet.

<sub>Ember's narrowed as she fought hard against Jai's intrusion on her mind, her mind and body finally rose to the occasion as he attacked once more, she leapt up, dodging the flying earth and everything else that was flying at her. She lashed out with power she didn't even know she had. It struck the ground, hard, right behind Jai. With a snarl, she leapt into the air, shifting into a lithe lioness as she did so, she shifted once more into something that only belonged in a fairy tale: a dragon. Her tail whipped around to smack Jai straight into the hole that was created. It was just a distraction though. She phased once more this time into herself. While Jai was done, she launched herself into his mind, breaking down the walls that stood in her path. Soon enough she was far enough in his mind and she stopped. She didn't want to know his secrets or anything else he wanted to keep hidden from her. Instead, she turned back and retreated back to her own mind, I love you. Ember dropped into crouch, this time choosing defense.

Sabine eyes narrowed,"Ember wil not fall. She's much tougher to get rid of than you think."she snapped. She didn't want to think about losing her best friend. Infact she couldn't it hurt too much. Fury erupted in the small fragile creature and she sprang slamming the butt of her palm against his nose. How dare he even suggest such a ridiculous thing.</sub>

Ashton coughed once, the air knocked out of him. He soon shook it off and got up off the ground, a smile on his face. "That was actually pretty good. You're quick." he said with a nod. His head tilted slightly as he examined her, trying to find her weak spot. She was fast, but was also tiny. He wasn't too fast but he did have brute strength on his side. He was also a quick shifter, so he could always just shift into a swift animal. He usually tried to use defensive moves though since he wasn't quick enough to use attack moves very often. He charged at her, pushing into the air with his foot and shifting into a large and muscular anaconda. His long snake body hit her square in the chest and his strong jaw latched onto her shirt though he made sure not to bite her. Having his needle-like fangs sunk into the fabric he began tightly coiling his tail around her legs, pinning them together and the coils going higher until he was tightly constricting her chest. He stayed there, wanting to see how she would escape his ever tightening coils.

<sub>Lauren grinned, despite the trouble to breath. "Nice try, snake-man," she huffed, and then seemed to vanish. Her form melted into a small being - a mouse, and she zipped away before shifting into a powerful wolf. Before he had a chance to response, Lauren had lunged, snapped her jaws shut across the back of his head, though she held him gently, and growled, shaking her head back and forth gently. She released him, danced out of the way, and waited for him to respond, though she didn't phase back. She watched him cooly.

That was good, Jai told her, shaking himself. He met her gaze, smiled sadly, and then attacked again. Nearly every ounce of his power slammed down on her mind, binding it, placing horrible amounts of pressure. He wouldn't hurt her, though. Never. He could never hurt his mate.</sub>

Ashton hissed, though it wasn't threatening. He phased again, this time into a hefty mountain lion. His tawny fur matched the color of his hair and his eyes sparkled bright blue as he growled at her, a playful sound mixed between a chirp and roar. His round ears pressed against his head and his tail lashed, his big paw swatting at the air.

Orenda watched, looking towards Unole. She was standing beside him and glanced at him every once and a while. She was trained as a Healer and didn't know very much about fighting. "Uh, should I join them?" she asked, slightly confused on what she should do. "Do I have to know how to fight?"

_{Ember crumpled to the ground, holding her temples, screams of pain escaping her lips. She pushed back, but it wasn't enough. It was never enough. She had always thought herself powerful and she was, bit she was nothing compared to Jai. What she didn't realize yet though was she barely even touching the power that was her birthright. She would learn to tap into it, once she figured out that she was soo much more powerful. Her scream cut off as she pushed pass it for one achingly small second and leapt at Jai. Her body weight once more slamming into her mate.}

<sub>Unole turned his gaze to Orenda, tilting his head. "You are a healer," he stated, as if it made all the sense in the world. "From what I know of those who possess your power, you have the desire to heal, not hurt. As a result, no, you do not need to fight. You are my Healer, and as such, I need you to heal. But, Orenda, know that if you are placed in a situation of danger, you will know how to defend yourself."

Lauren bobbed her head, her fur a soft, silky grayish-black. She bobbed her head again, swished her tail, and swung her form around. She shot off like a bullet, sweeping around Ashton. She hit his side hard, shoved him to the earth, and then closed her maw on the ruff of his neck, shaking her head playfully although she did not release him.</sub>

[Goldie]

Ashton released a sort of shouted yowl, his hefty paw sweeping at her legs until he managed to knock them out from under her. He writhed and wriggled as he tried to make her release him, though he did wince whenever his scruff was pulled by her pointy teeth.

Orenda nodded, fingers stretching in and out of a fist. She felt magic twist itself around her fingers, as if a thread of sticky silver was stringing itself around her thin fingers. "So, I could use my power to defend myself?" she asked, flicking her fingers and imagining the magic flicking off of her fingers like water droplets and landing in the grass. When she opened her lilac eyes little purple asters were sprouting from the grass. A soft smile touched her lips.

<sub>"Yes," Unole responded, "and also you natural instincts, as you will fight if you need to. Remember that your most powerful weapon is most often your mind." He watched her, tilting his head. With a gentle push of his power, the flowers spiraled up with power and speed, blooming almost instantly. "I may not be a healer," Unole chuckled, "but I am not powerless."

Lauren dropped all of her body weight onto Ashton, shifting her grip on his scruff. She did not release him, growling in amusement.
