Ashton coughed, rolling onto his back and scratching at her with his large paws and claws while kicking his back legs as well.
Orenda grinned, eyes bright. She often thought of Unole as a second dad, or grandfather. She had been glued to Jai's side for years and therefore, always in his shadow when him and Unole trained. She had always been around, though she had been shy and didn't speak very often.

Ember, Jai grunted as he caught his mate, holding her tight to him. I'm sorry. Oh, God I hurt you. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Jai's voice seemed utterly defeated as he held his mate, rocking her back and forth, struggling not to hate himself - for her sake. He had hurt her... he had hurt her! What kind of mate was he if he allowed the other half of his soul to become injured, even if it was only temporary? No. He didn't deserve Ember, and he never would. That much was sure.
Closing his eyes, Jai gently sent the soft love and compassion he held for Ember through their bond, silently pleading with her for forgiveness, though it was doubtful Jai would ever truly forgive himself. While he recognized it as necessary, the beast inside of Jai hated him for hurting Ember. Swore left and right that such pain wasn't necessary; that Jai only needed to show her what it was like, not force it down upon her.
Lauren finally released Ashton, bounding away. Give up yet, wolf-man? she teased, watching him with a light sparkle in her hazel eyes. She swished her tail and waited for him to attack again.

Ashton's tail lashed back and forth as he stood, the cougar form of him shaking the dust off of his coat. Fine. You win. he roared, not having the heart to try to fight her.

Ember didn't say anything, she just buried her face in his chest. She clung to him for dear life and she didn't let go. Her head was throbbing and she could feel the pressure. She put on a brave face and pulled back."Stop."she commanded."It wasn't your fault. It was mine. I wasn't strong enough."she murmured, she was more than alittle stunned that her mate had actually hurt her.

Orenda jogged over to Jai and Ember's side. "Are you alright, Princess?" she asked, squatting down next to the couple. She had been shocked when her big brother had found his life mate, honestly a little jealous, and worried he would forget about her. She liked Ember, though she could be a little too much at one time. Orenda chose to be around Ember in small doses, though she still liked hanging around the Princess. "Need any help?" She asked, brushing her ebony waves that were so much like her mothers out of her eyes, her pretty lilac eyes.
Jane was doing a patrol with her mother and sister, Jaci and Josie, and a few other wolves when she silently snuck away from the rest of the group. She had smelled some, actually alot, of Schimba and wanted to see what they were all gathered for. Her golden eyes widened when she spotted the big training course going on. Her gold fur didn't help her blend in too much, but she managed to find a patch of somewhat dry grass to wriggle into and blend with.

Jai flicked his glittering emerald eyes to his sister, smiling. He loved Orenda; he'd been her protector for over a hundred years. He still held Ember close to him; touch was soothing to the beast in Jai. Simply holding his mate calmed the wolf-like being, causing it to rumble a bit in contentment, though he was still angry at Jai's 'training' style.
I'm sorry, Jai said again, softly, through their bond.
Lauren eyed him and tilted her head to the side. In a flash she'd shifted, standing before Ashton in all of her normal-looking glory. She tilted her head, eyeing him with her glowing hazel eyes, her soft black hair draped about her face.
Fane trotted after the trail that Jane had left, nose to the earth. Jaci had rightly asked him to find the pup, as she needed to keep an eye on Josie. He tilted his head when he finally caught sight of the wolf.

Orenda ruffled Jai's black hair, tugging out a few peices of grass and other earthy debri that had gotten caught in it during the training. She frowned, spotting a scrape on his cheek. She blinked a few times and took a small breath, holding it for a moment while she flexed her fingers before covering the scraped flesh on his cheek with her nimble and small fingers. She closed her eyes for a few seconds, keeping her hand there, before removing it and opening her eyes. She smirked slightly when she saw the scrape was gone, the small injury fully healed in a matter of two seconds. She was getting better, faster.
Ashton stretched in his cougar form before shifting. His fur slowly melted away except for his tawny colored hair. His dark blue eyes remained the same though, the hints of playfulness and curiosity lingering in their abyssal blue depths as he looked down at the little cook.
Jane looked over at Fane slowly, golden eyes narrowing slightly and her ears pressing against her head. Be quiet. I'm...studying. she said, thinking it over in her head quickly. She then pressed back into the dry grass, glad she hadn't been found out yet.

Ember smiled as the pain subsided, she glanced at Orenda and than back at Jai,"Thank you, but I'm fine now."she whispered, though her eyes didn't leave Jai. She leaned forward and kissed him on the forehead,"Mine."she whispered for only him to hear. Slowly she began to rise from her seat on Jai's lap,"Again."she said, her legs wobbly, but her eyes were resolved. She nodded,"Again."she commanded, her eyes hardening with cold determination. She glanced at Orenda,"Step back. You'll want to,"she said and than switched her gaze back to her mate.

Orenda's jaw set at the last comment. She didn't have much fighting training, but she had been trained immensley in the mental attacks. Her nose wrinkled in an almost snarl but then she shook her head and walked back towards Unole. Orenda was just as powerful as any other Schimba. She could shift into anything her heart desired. She had an extra skill though. She could heal the body and mind. She had to be mentally and psycologically powerful, able to ward off attacks that would block her ability to think clearly and carefully, rendering her healing powers weak and useless. She had to keep a clear mind so she would know what spells to use for the right kind of healing, so she could tap into her Healing power, so she could evade injury and madness herself. She took Ember's warning as a type of mockery, though she stayed quiet as always.

Don't let it get to ya, 'Renda, Jai told his sister. She doesn't doubt you or your power; she's just very protective of her people. And the fact that you're my sister and I'm her mate might add a bit to that. Why don't you try and find your mate? Jai teased. Stark's just arrived. I think he had to fly in from FL if I remember. Must be why it took him so long..
He hesitated. The look in Jai's eyes was clear; his beast was snarling at him, warning him not to harm Ember.
