Jaci was standing with Fane, talking to him about different training techniques that could help the two girls when she heard Josie scream.

Josie's green eyes widened as a hoard of ravens attacked the window she and Leto were standing next to. As the glass started cracking, she let out a bloodcurdling scream and grabbed Leto's hand, her mind too numb to think about shifting.

Upon hearing her sister's scream, Jane bounded out of bed and phased mid jump.

<sub>Fane did not hesitate. In a flash of ebon, he'd shifted and hurtled himself towards Josie's cry. He became a very shadow of the night, lunging at the Strigoi who reached for Josie, face twisted into a mask of hunger and lust. The ebon wolf slammed into the vamp and they went down in a mass of snarls and claws.

"Josie!" Leto hissed. "Shift!" As he spoke, Leto did the only thing he knew to do at a time like this. He shifted into the glorious red wolf he was, and threw himself in front of Josie. He'd promised to protect her. The red wolf let out a whine of pain as a Strigoi managed to claw through his shoulder, though he stood strong - to his credit.</sub>

Josie shifted into a mini form of Fane, more feminine though. She nodded to Jane as the blond wolf met her side. They slunk to either side of Leto, lips bared back and snarls ripping from them. They were the almost perfect team, what Jane lacked in speed Josie made up for it. Then what Josie didn't have in strength Jane made sure to cover for her. The twins launched themselves at a female, Josie darting in and out to snap her with sharp teeth while Jane struggled to keep her pinned down.

Jaci turned into her petite chocolate brown wolf form, flashing past Leto to join Fane. Her motherly instinct kicked in and she became of mass of deadly teeth, slashing claws, and fearsome barks.

<sub>Leto lunged forward alongside the sisters, tackling a large, burly Strigoi to the ground. The vamp's red eyes flashed with excitement as Leto hurled himself at him and he reached up, wrapping his arms around the wolf's chest. He began to squeeze, crushing Leto's sternum. The wolf thrashed and snarled, gasping for air. There was a crack and a low whine as one of Leto's rubs broke. The wolf managed to turn his head and snap his teeth shut over the vamp's nose, forcing the Strigoi to release him. He collapsed in a heap, gasping for air, though he bounced rather quickly back to his paws. The vampire looked furious, his nose broken and bleeding profusely. The two mythical beings lunged at each other again, the wolf rising on his back paws to claw at the vampire's face. The vampire gnashed his teeth, clawing at the wolf's face to the best of his ability. To his credit, the wolf held his own.

Fane growled and snarled, sticking close to Jaci. He easily dodged the vampire's sloppy attacks, distracting the Strigoi to allow Jaci time to dart in and snap at the vampire's exposed flesh. After a few moments of this the vampire snarled and managed to find an opening, fleeing the Pack House with every ounce of speed he could muster.</sub>

Josie, spotting Leto and the vampire, dashed to his aid. She clamped her strong jaws onto the Strigoi's exposed Achilles tendon, her sharp teeth sinking into the skin and locking.

Jaci panted with excitement as the intruder ran away. She glanced at Fane, a wolfish grin on her face. Her tail wagged and her ears went back as another Strigoi approached the two wolves. He was big. He faked to his right, as if he was going to attack Fane, but at the last moment switched directions and grabbed Jaci around the throat. He lifted her off of the ground and latched his teeth into her shoulder while she squirmed and a raspy growl left her open mouth.

[Cloudy]

<sub>Fane lunged forward, tearing through the Strigoi that held Jaci. His teeth scored across the vampire's back, sinking deep into his side. With a low growl, he jerked his head to the right and tore open the vampire's side and stomach.

Leto grunted when Josie ran to his aid. The vampire howled in pain, spinning to claw at Josie, and Leto took his chance. He lunged forward, mimicking Fane's move, and bit deep into the Strigoi's right side. It howled in pain, struggling to break free of each wolf's grip.</sub>

Josie snapped her jaw's completely around the Strigoi's ankle, only letting go when she felt the bone snap. She barked fiercly, growls tearing through her. She snapped at the vampire's calf, making bite marks lace the skin and blood pool down its leg. Drop of blood dripped down her chin when she let her teeth sink into the Strigoi's soft calf muscle.

The Strigoi dropped Jaci and she fell onto the floor with a thud, her head hitting first. She just laid there, unconcious though her chest did rise and fall faintly.
