The vet returned a few minutes later. He set some things down and nodded to himself. "Bring him here, please." The vet said quietly. "We should get him set up in his stall for the night. I think he's done enough walking around." He said quietly. "Has his stall been cleaned recently? Just want to make it as comfortable for the horse as whoever is staying with him." The vet nodded as he started tinkering with the IV bag, untangling one of the tubes that would hooked to the stallion's leg.
Sadie wathced the activity going on with a keen interest and concern. She ran a hand through her hair and let out a sigh, eyebrows furrowed, and a line of stress forming between her eyebrows. She stepped aside, making room for the horse, jockey, and vet.

Ever didn't know what to say, she simply nodded. The funny thing was she didn't even blink when Aiden said Ethan and Skya belonged together, it was the truth, and Ever knew it. Ever loved Ethan, but as a brother. The jockey had her heart settled on someone else. She sighed,"If you need any help trying to find Shadow, give me a call."she said and patted him on the shoulder as she passed him."Bye."she murmured as she walked down the rest of the stables.

Skya nodded reluctantly, stepping aside. "A race?" She nodded along approvingly, and then tilted her head. "Me? Well, I suppose I could. Haven't raced much in a while since BamBam is still young and Culver's retired. I could use a good race." She shrugged and then frowned. "Four days." She confirmed aloud, then shuffled her feet awkwardly and looks up at Sasha. "It can be arranged." short

[Sorry, was video chatting.]
"I cleaned it earlier," Adam responded quietly, shifting. "I'm staying with him for the night," He commented quietly, focusing on the IV that would soon be started. "Is that thing going to help him?" He asked doubtfully. He hated IVs. They always made him freezing. That wouldn't happen to Zeph, would it? That'd be ironic and horrible!
Aiden waved a hand toward Ever gratefully. "Thank you. For everything." He said quietly. He was glad that she didn't care that he was drinking. Skya and Jessie would just rip him a new one. Well, that or Skya would ignore his existence. Something like that. And he deserved that, too, didn't he? He let out a quiet sigh, watching as Frayed Heart approached, lipping at his fingers as he stretched them out.
"It would keep you in practice." Alexander pointed out and then tipped his head. "I race more than you now. How ironic." The Russian said quietly, shifting. It'd been three years since he lost the vision in his left eye, riding her filly, Res.

Sadie wound a hand through her hair as she watched the vet and Adam. She was practically falling asleep on her feet, and probably wouldn't last very long if she wanted to stay up with Adam. She rubbed at her right eye for a moment and let out a sigh. "It'll keep him stable, and there is a fever reducer in the mixture. Can you lead him in please? It might be helpful to tie his head up, and I'll hook him up one he is settled." The vet said quietly and calmly as he sat down on a hay bale as he continued to get his things straight. He was getting the needled sterilized and the tubes and veins of the IV all straightened out. He blew out his cheeks for a moment and shook his head, mumbling something incoherent under his breath.

Adam led his stallion into the stall, clipping his lead so he couldn't lie down. "Sorry, bud. It's for your own good. You won't get better by doing that..." He murmured, stroking his neck. Je'd probably rub him down to remove the layer of sweat and probably groom him a bit. That ought to make him feel a tad better. He figured that it would be nice not to sit around, covered in grime ans swear. It might help with his fever, too. He'd be more properly insulated. "Is this it? Any instructions on my part? Is there anything I should be looking for? Signs of improvement or worsening?"
Aiden eventually brought the broodmares in for the night, studying their swollen bellies and their kind eyes. He liked broodmares. They were usually so gentle, except on the more hormonal days. Those times were never fun. He knew which mares acted worst while pregnant though, so at least he would be ready when the time came.

The vet entered the stall after Adam had hooked the stallion up inside. He took a moment to organize his things before bending over, murmuring to the horse to keep him calm as he inserted the IV before hanging it up on a hook on the closer wall. "Er... Keep him still, don't let him lay down, the usual. I think you know what to do, and when he'll take water, and when he acts like when he's not in pain, you'll be in the clear." The vet nodded slowly. "I think that's about all I can do. Call if anything happens, or if you need help. My job here is done for the moment, and good luck. I'm sure he'll pull through." The vet murmured quietly, and nodded. He gathered his things up, and departed out in the night world towards his truck.

(*cough* Wasatch *cough*)
Zoey watched as the vet left. She scampered over to Zeph's stall and stood on her toes to look into it. "Is Zephie gonna be alright, Uncle Addy?" she asked, blue eyes watching Adam's face closely. She was worried about Zeph, she knew he was her uncle's favorite horse. Although Champ and PV were her favorite, Zeph ment alot to her because he ment alot to Adam. Jessie put a hand on her daughter's head. "Let's leave Adam alone, alright Zo? I'm sure he doesn't want you asking questions." she said, not wanting to bother Adam while he was with the sick stallion. "Zeph needs to rest. You can see them in the morning." Zoey poked her bottom lip out but nodded. "Fine. Night night Uncle Addy." she said before her mother tugged on her hand and led her towards the bunkhouse.

The soft, keening hum that echoed in Cyn's chest lulled the massive animal named Tromlui into a state of half-consciousness; he was aware of his surroundings, but he had no true active thought. Added with the gentle melody that Cyn wove were the smooth, sweeping strokes of the curry comb, and with those Nightmare had not a chance. His lower lip sort of sagged, hanging loosely, and allowing a bit of spittle and drool free. His back hoof tilted upward and he let out a soft, rumbling sigh as his icy eyes rolled closed. Cyn chuckled to herself, continuing the gentle brushing that she'd started not two minutes ago. Nightmare seemed especially exhausted today.
The gentle, repetitive movements served to lull Cyn into a distraction wrought by her thoughts. Her blank gaze stared at Nightmare's flank, but she was lost in the maze of her thoughts.

Sadie was just bringing LuLu in from the pasture. The cherry bay flicked her tail uneasily, dancing on the end of the lead with a tentative grace. Sadie frowned, elongating her features as she clipped the filly to the cross ties. She glanced down the way towards Cyn, eyebrows kinking as she disappeared into the tack room to father her things. She returned and set to work on the filthy, grass and dirt stained coat of Sunkissed Lullaby. The Triple Crown's daughter was rather spunky, and refused to settle as Sadie tried to groom her. Finally, the blonde jockey sighed and took a step back.
"Lu, knock it off." Sadie was a bit stressed out at the moment, deciding if she wanted to continue being a jockey, worried about Celestial Zephyr, the last time she had checked in on the stallion and her boyfriend, he was still doing the same. She hoped that Zeph would pull through. Adam didn't need to deal with the death of his favorite horse. Sadie blew out, causing the short mane hairs on LuLu's withers to billow slightly.
