Cyn turned her head slightly at the sound of Sadie's voice. "Something wrong?" she asked, as though she hadn't heard a single word about Zeph. She had, of course, but didn't want to bring it up. It seemed too painful a subject, and Cyn wasn't one to cause pain. No, she was a healer, a kind soul that wanted to help those in pain. "Need some help?" It was an offer made in kindness, an offer made to relieve stress. Since the loss of her sight, Cyn seemed to become that much more aware of the feelings of those around her.
She heard the soft, but deep, breathing of another horse and guessed that it was this 'Lu' that Sadie had named. Though, for the life of her, Cyn wouldn't have been able to spout off the full name of the filly, but hey, a nickname was something, wasn't it?

[Nice. haha.]
Sadie glanced up from where she had bent over to examine LuLu's hoof. She ran a hand through her hair and sighed. She didn't respond for a long moment, seemingly lost in thought. "Er... Not really, just tired." She said quietly, eyeing the other girl carefully. She didn't think she had talked to the blind person much, and when she tried to recall her name, she drew a blank. Her mouth screwed up in thought. She sighed again, shaking her head as she thought about the more recent troubles, they were not nearly as bad as they had been in the past year.
She finally decided to feeling sorry for herself and turned to look fully onto Cyn. "Sorry, I was distracted." She let out a slightly nervous laugh. "I'm good... But thanks. Do you need any?" Sadie asked cautiously and finished up with Lu.

Ever smiled as she hummed softly under her breath,"Hey there pretty girl. Ready to go?"she said, patting Devious's flank."I'm gonna miss you. Mom is gonna miss you. Yes, she is."she whispered as a tear slid down her cheek. She leaned against her mare, hugging her tightly. They had been through a lot together, Devious had been the one who finally got Ever's mind off her lost baby, Ever had been the one who nursed Devious back to health after her knee had been shattered, she hadn't let the doctor put her down, she had faith that Devious would fight it and survive, and she had done just that.
The jockey began to cry as she groomed out Devious's fur. The only upside to selling Devious was that her mother was buying her and Ever had been promised the first foal and she was going to a good home. She sighed as she began to prepare Devious for the Lon journey ahead of her.

Skya led her cherished bay yearling out of his stall, patting his long neck as he obsequiously trailed behind her, head drooped. His ears flicked incessantly at any little sound, the inquisitive horse getting interested in small things, like a human walking by or a butterfly flapping around. Soon enough he was peppily making his way across the property of the facility beside her, dipping his head to get some grass only to be restrained by the short length of lead rope he was allowed. Skya knew him too well.
As they came across the outdoor arena, Skya unclipped him and stepped aside to let him play around inside. His ears flew forward and he nickered, following her to the fence as she hopped up on it and swung her legs. Chuckling, she pushed his nose away as he sniffed her knee, then popped her lips and grabbed three sugar cubes, throwing each of them to the other end of the fenced-in dirt grounds and a good amount away from one another. BamBam immediately set to work, lipping up the first two before jogging all the way to the other side to find and grab the last one. He investigated Skya a little longer afterwards, snuffling and nuzzling her for more before sniffing the floors for grass or something. Giving up, he busied himself in cantering and crow hopping, while Skya ignored him and played on her smart phone.
The colt's long, spindly black legs spread far, and he pranced and danced around, head high as he showed off. Skya looked up and watched him for a while, chuckling at him as he came up to her and lipped her boot. She looked over the contrasting white star and strip he comprised on his small, baby head, then played with his ear some before going back to the screen of her iPhone. BamBam lipped at the corner of her mobile, attempting to sink his teeth into the device when Skya popped his nose. The yearling flinched, stumbling back a few steps with his ears perked and eyes wide in confusion and interest. The limber girl chuckled, sliding down from the fence and beginning to walk across the arena. The bay followed closely behind, hanging his head over her shoulder or nudging her back playfully.
"Oh, you, I'm not chasing you around! Oh..." She sighed as he trotted off, nickering and implying for her to play chase. She giggled and ran in his direction, only for his mere trotting in the opposite direction to already leave her behind. "You're too fast." She complained, tilting her head and admiring her horse. "You're going to be a tall one, yeah? Seventeen hands, I'm guessing? That's big." She chuckled, and he watched her quizzically, cocking his head. "Shaaa, you're adorable, Bam." The horse let out a whicker and playfully bobbed his head, lashing out his tail.

The night was painfully long, minutes blurring into hours as Adam watched over Celestial Zephyr. He was grateful for the little wellwishers that popped by now and then, focus remaining on the stallion. Through it all, Adam never left the stall. He sat only in small shifts of five minutes or so before standing again to reach out and brush a hand along Zeph's neck. The stallion was subdued, trying to merely sleep through the discomfort rather than shift around. At two in the morning, his fever spiked with the pain. Adam sponged his hot hide down carefully, relieved when the fever dropped after a little while. By six in the morning, Celestial Zephyr appeared to be resting comfortably. He'd nosed at his bucket of water a little before ultimately dropping off to sleep. Adam was sleeping as well, though he was standing in what must have been an uncomfortable position. He was leaning against Zeph, hands on the stallion's back to hold himself upright. Zeph hadn't moved during the entire time, both snoozing together, sharing in the discomfort.

[Stealing Sadie back.]
Sadie walked into the stables right about when the sun was staring to rise. Early morning, cool autumn light filtered dimly through the wide, double-door gap that marked the entrance to the stables. She'd gone to bed around midnight, bidding Adam good luck with Celestial Zephyr. It'd been the first time in awhile that Sadie had gotten more than a few hours of sleep. She fared well, used to the little amount of sleep. She'd gained insomnia from her head injury months ago, and frankly, she felt refreshed and attentive at the moment. She paused near the Triple Crown Winner's stall, eyebrows raised faintly. She didn't want to wake up the sleeping jockey to ask how the stallion was doing, but he looked better. She puffed out her cheeks after a moment and continued down the way to hurry and get LuLu her breakfast and make sure her water bucket was full.

[Hello.]
Celestial Zephyr's eyes opened when Sadie paused outside of his stall, but he didn't so much as nicker. He hadn't done that toward a human in months, not even toward Adam. His head dropped faintly as he closed his eyes again, determined to go back to sleep. At some point, Adam shifted slightly in his sleep, lost his grip on Zeph's back, and keeled over, landing in the straw. Zeph shied away a step or two, managing to avoid kicking Adam in the process. His head lowered as far as the lead rope would allow as he turned to investigate Adam before he lifted his head and shook his mane out. He snorted. He was awake now. Adam, on the other hand, wasn't quite awake yet. He barely registered that he was now laying on the ground, absently patting the straw and mumbling something. His eyes were bleary. His head hurt like the dickens and his mind was foggy as he raised his head.

Sadie was in the feed room as she measured out her cherry bay filly's breakfast. She was quick to finish up and walked back out, ensuring the door closed behind her as she made her way back down the aisle to Sunkissed Lullaby's stall. The filly was impatient and nosed at Sadie's shoulder and arm as she entered. Sadie cursed softly as Lu nipped at her. "Knock it off." She muttered, eyebrows furrowing and quickly leaving the stall. She didn't want to deal with the temperamental thoroughbred. She rubbed absently at her bare arm and paused for a moment, expression going blank; pretty blue eyes distant before she shook her head and continued on. She again, paused outside of Zeph's stall, eyebrows kinking when she noticed Adam on the ground. She leaned over the stall door, glancing at Celestial Zephyr warily. "Adam... You should go to bed... How's Zeph doing?" She asked quietly, assuming that he was awake, his eyes were open, to say the least.

Adam scowled at Sadie, shaking his head. "Shhhhh." He hissed, putting his head back down with a faint sigh. Shaking his head hadn't been wise. He wasn't going to bed like Sadie said. He had work to do. He had six races on the card today, the first of which started at noon, but he had to exercise his other horses and go for a run himself before reporting to the track by ten. He had no time for resting. A few painkillers and caffeine tablets and he'd be okay for a few hours. He rubbed at his head for a few seconds longer before rising stiffly. It hadn't been a good idea clearly to fall asleep as he must have done. He figured that, if he hadn't fallen asleep, his headache would have been delayed by a few more hours, if it had come at all.
"Could you check in on him every half hour or so?" He asked quietly. "I have to take the boys out before my run and the races later..." He explained breathlessly. Standing up only increased the heavy throb, though this was mostly just from head rush. It'd dissipate within moments and he'd just be left with the regular headache. He absently ran an eye over Zeph, noting that he did look better and that his water bucket had gone down about a quarter in level. He was taking fluids after all. Good.

Sadie took a step back and nodded slowly, rocking back on her heels. "Yeah, sure. I'll keep an eye on him." She said quietly, gaze flickering to the cherry bay. Her eyebrows kinked for a split second and then her eyes switched back over to Adam. She nodded at his second thing, rubbing at the back of her head after a moment before she let out a sigh. She blinked a few times. "When are your races?" She asked, more out of curiosity then anything.
LuLu nickered from down the way, eyeing her owner warily and snorted loudly. She wanted to go out for a run! Like they had done yesterday. She nickered again, more loudly than before, trying to get the questioning jockey's attention. The filly huffed when she was promptly ignored, though, Sadie winced ever so slightly at the loud noise coming down from the way.
