"What're we doing for Zo's birthday?" Jess's husky voice answered Jessie's calling. He peeked around to glimpse at her and smiled softly, taking a gulp of water from the plastic bottle and setting it on the counter. He leaned against the counter and watched the woman closely, blue eyes taking in her current appearance and clothing. "Tired, sweets?" He surmised as he grabbed a can of Dr. Pepper and set it in the refridgerator for later. short

"Just a little party here." Jessie said, hugging her thin arms around his waist. She was walking around in a V-neck white tshirt and gray sweatpants, her normal attire after she got out of her medical scrubs. Her hair was pulled into a ponytail of red curls and her bangs were swept across the side of her small face. "I made a pot of chili for lunch for everyone and got the cake today. HAd to make the chili 'healthy' so maybe some people here will eat it." her eyes rolled "Nothing big. Mom is suppose to be here by nine tomorrow morning, don't forget. I don't want you eating any of those cookies she makes either. Those things are dripping in rum." Jessie said with a small laugh. She rested her chin on Jess's chest so that she could look up at him, her big blue eyes searching his face.

Sadie was quick to grab LuLu's saddle and bridle and then paused, putting it back. She really didn't want to ride today. Her head was hurting and she mainly just wanted to go chill in the bunkhouse. She paused near Celestial Zephyr's stall, eyeing the stallion over for a moment to ensure that he was fine before she settled Sunkissed Lullaby into her stall once more. The filly was on the verge of throwing a fit, but Sadie was quick to leave. She didn't want to deal wit the troublesome thoroughbred. She sighed as she crossed the stable yard, arms swinging slightly as she walked slowly, approaching the bunkhouse with a distant look in her blue eyes. She crashed on one of the couches with a sigh, staring absently at the screen of the television.

Jess situated his hands on the small of her back, looking down at her. "Mmm. Sounds like fun, yeah?" He chuckled as he rubbed soothing circles along her back. He frowned. "Mm, rum? Yeah. I don't mind those too much. They're a good excuse to have a 'drink' when needed and not look like I'm a bad influence and whatnot. Getting drunk at my daughter's party wouldn't be a good image." He smirked, playing with her ponytail absentmindedly. "You have such pretty hair." He smiled softly, kissing her cheekbone before snuggling her close. When she looked up at him, he couldn't help but laugh slowly. "You look like a puppy." He kissed her nose and played with the back of her shirt.

[Switching to iPad for a little bit.]
Adam had no luck in finding Jessie. Seeing as PV's race was around five, he figured he had time to find her. He checked in on Celestial Zephyr once more before changing his riding boots out for sneakers. He also changed into some jogging clothes, enough to ward off the chill but also preventing him from overheating. His legs already ached from the uncomfortable way in which he'd allowed himself to fall asleep, namely, standing. He wouldn't do that again. He stretched briefly on the porch before heading down the driveway at a light jog. He'd pick up the pace farther down the road. He typically did a four mile run in the morning and often a second one later at night, though shorter. Each breath he took gave a nauseous twinge to his stomach, reminding him again that he hadn't eaten anything since yesterday afternoon, and that he'd taken painkillers on an empty stomach. He ignored the sensation for a while longer, focusing on the path ahead of him. Eventually, he slowed to a walk and then stopped, bending with his hands on his knees as he took a few deep breaths. The feeling finally faded and he resumed his workout, albeit at a slower pace.

Ever sighed, nodding,"I'm sorry."she lifted her gaze to his, before it dropped once more,"For everything. I was wrong about everything and it was stupid of me."she leaned once more on to Devious,"Do you think you'll ever be able to forgive me?"she whispered. She wiped her tears away, thinking about how stupid and self-centered she looked standing there crying for her horse.(Last short one.. I promise)

Lark bounced in her seat, excitement radiating off of the young woman as they got closer to their destination of Cross Thoroughbred Racing Facility. The young French Canadian had just started her career in the racing world, though she had been riding for many years. Lark squeaked with excitement as Cross came into view. She ignored the look her older sister, Companion, shot her from the driver's side seat. "Calm down." Companion's soft voice said, the tone stern. "You aren't the boss of me. Aren't you even the least bit excited to be here? Away from Mother and Father? And Uncle Larry." Lark's nose wrinkled. She did miss her parents, kind and loving father, sweet and sneaky Grandma Petal. Though she didn't miss her stern and bossy mother. Companion nodded, though the movement seemed forced. "I am excited, but I can control my emotions unlike you. You are acting like a fritzy schoolgirl. I swear if you don't sit down and act like a young lady I will-" she didn't finish her sentence because the unruly Lark had taken the opportunity of the slowing car to unlock her door and get out. She stumbled some but otherwise stayed up strait. She smirked and did a sarcastic curtsie to her sister who had a mean look on her face. Companion parked the small silver car while Lark looked around for their horses which had arrived a few days earlier. "Frenchie! There you are baby!" she said with a thankful sigh as she spotted her energetic TB in the pasture. "Miss Scarlet is here too." she said to Companion as her sister came to stand beside her, pointing to the bloodred chestnut mare resting in the shade of a tree.

Keely offered a wary smile. "Of course." She took a step or two closer, hesitantly stretching out a hand for BamBam to sniff. As she did this, she nodded. Her green gaze curiously flickered from one creature to the other, brows slightly furrowed thoughtfully.(so sorry for short post. Next one better)

Sadie eventually left the bunkhouse, feeling restless. It was an odd sensation, her mind was tired and wanted to rest, but her body itched, yearning to move or to do something. She let out a frustrated sigh, eyebrows furrowing as she wandered around the facility. Her arms were crossed across her chest with the autumn chill. She'd forgotten her jacket inside. The questioning jockey found herself at the lake of all places, after a few minutes of walking. She was sitting on the dock, legs drawn up to her chest and her chin resting on her her knees. She was staring at the reflective water with dull eyes, mind awhirl with thoughts as she tried to piece things together and figure out what she was going to do. She was confused, and didn't know if she should continue with her career. She eventually leaned back, staring up at the deep, blue sky. She could see the shore and the brilliance of the fall colors marking the trees in her peripheral, but paid no mind.

Jessie raised an eyebrow at that comment but couldn't help but smile. "So, I've been thinking... Should we move out of the facility? I mean, Zoey sleeps in the same room as we do with her bed pushed against the wall. I've been looking at a few little houses in town that are up for rent. Some of them are close enough to the facility that it wouldn't be a problem driving here." she sighed, the smile fading "Aiden wouldn't like me having to drive to get here incase an emergency happens though. But it's not like he would let us build our own little home on the facility like he has his own house." she looked at the floor "I just want Zoey to be able to grow up somewhere. We were lucky Zoey was a quiet baby and didn't bother anybody here... but what if we decide to have a baby and it's not quiet?" she looked up at him, biting her bottom lip slightly in thought as she searched his face again before looking back down.
