<sub>Ember's ears perked and she opened her eyes to stare at Jai,"You sure?"she asked, her voice no louder than a whisper, as she phased into her human form. Her blue eyes stares up at him, slowly she rose. Her body made the mattress groan as she laid close to Jai. Her back was to him and she smiled."Go to sleep."she whispered and than she started to sing a soft lullaby. Her voice taking on its unusual melodic tune.

She sang for quite awhile until she slowly fell asleep. Finally, her body was peaceful as well as her mind.</sub>

_{"Yes," Jai huffed, "I'm sure." He cuddled close to her, pulling her against his side as he twirled a strand of her hair around his fingers. His green eyes grew dull at her soft voice and eventually rolled shut. His breathing grew soft and deep, his mind growing still as he sank into the Healing Sleep once more. His body worked feverishly to expel the toxins and repair the damage done by Barnabus. His heart muscles knit themselves back together, sealing shut with narrow an imperfection. His blood was purged clean of the Cibarium magic, the poison attacked and expelled without hesitation. The skin across his chest smooth and knit back together, although a small, silvery scar remained. There was no ridding himself of the scar - the silver, magic-embedded blade had made sure of that. Jai shifted slightly in his sleep, pulling Ember a tad closer to him.}

<sub>Ember was sound asleep, she needed the rest, more often than not nightmares would plague her dreams and have her up for hours. The nightmares didn't dare set foot in her dreamland tonight though. A heavy moan escaped her lips as she cuddled closer to Jai, just to feel him beside her. The princesses would flutter open on occasion and she would mumble something incoherent, before falling back into her slumber. Tonight was the one real night Ember got some sleep. Often she was finding ways not to sleep so she could avoid her nightmares. She hated them with a passion. She disliked her lack of slee.

A soft yawn emitted from Ember's lips as her eyes lids fluttered open. She smiled at her life mate and held him closed. She didn't know how her life would change, she just knew it would be for the better.</sub>

Peony looked around before knocking on Alec's door, the tray of food Lauren had prepared for his lunch balanced in her hands. Her dark brown eyes were big and doe like, making her seem even more fairy like when added to her small stature and small features. She was little and thin, very shy and had just come into her true Schimba powers after moving closer to the place she had grown up to, the Raven forest. "Sir," she said, her voice little as she brushed her strawberry blond hair away from her face. She hadn't spoken to Alec yet, but from what she had heard he was viscous and cruel.

[She should spill his food, he hit her, and then he feel the pain that she feels over the link. Boom.]

<sub>Lauren grunted wordlessly as she hauled the rather heavy metal pot, the soft, heady scent of her home cooking drifting through the house. Her hazel eyes narrowed as she finally reached Jai's room. Naturally, as the princess' best friend, Lauren had known about Ember and Jai's new connection within a few hours. She gently placed the pot down, zipped back into the kitchen to gather bowls and such, and then returned to the door. Lauren's delicate hand curled into a small fist as she knocked lightly at the door.

Jai made an odd grumbling sound, refusing to open his eyes. "Think your best friend's here," he murmured to his mate, "and something smells good, but I'm too lazy to get the door." He cuddled in closer to the bed, pulling the blanket up further as an excuse not to get up and let Lauren in.</sub>

<sub>Ember groaned, sleep still lingered her eyes, as she sat up. "Lauren get your butt in here!"she called, as she got up and walked to the door. She opened it and glared at her best friend,"I hate you."she said. Her eyes trailed down to the soup and a smile lite her face,"Omgosh! I love you! You're the best!"she cried, giving her an awkward hug.

<sub>"Of course you do," Lauren huffed, dragging the heavy pot in. She lifted it with all her might and placed it on Jai's desk.
"If that marks the wood-" Jai began and Lauren spun on him.
"Hush. I did not just lug this whole damn thing up here for you to growl some nonsense at me." She gave him a look, hands on her hips, and Jai huffed, forcing himself out of bed. The soft gauze wrapped around Jai's chest blocked the wound, and he carefully pulled a shirt on.
"So what's the great cook made now?" he teased. Lauren pointed the ladle at him in warning.
"It's simple chicken noodle, Mr. Illness." She glared at him. "Jees, Ember, your mate's really freaking stubborn."

Jai just laughed, ruffling Ember's hair. "Runs in the family," he said with a teasing wink.</sub>

_{Ember laughed softly, yup that was her best friend. She rolled her eyes,"Tell me about."she agreed and wacked Jai's arm."No ruffling."she scoffed, a teasing note in her voice. She sighed and shook her head,"He's only been my mate for a few hours and I don't know how I can still put up with him."she patted Jai's knee. She glanced at the soup, grabbed the ladle from Lauren, wacked her with it, and than she began to put herself some soup.}

<sub>"'Ey!" Lauren growled. "No smacking the person who made you food and brought it all the damn way up here." She pointed at Ember accusingly. "I hope it chokes you." She glared at Ember and crossed her arms, though there was a soft, affectionate glow in her hazel orbs. "Who can resist my cooking?" she boasted without warning, smirking at Ember knowingly. It was Lauren's cooking that Ember had survived on for quite some time, and Jai had enjoyed it, though he often teased her about it.

"I know it will choke me," Jai laughed, ruffling Ember's hair once more. "And I'm entitled to ruffle your hair when I want." He gave his mate and her friend a half-smile, a joking light in his green eyes. He crossed his arms loosely over his chest while he waited for Ember to hurry up and get some soup.</sub>

_{Ember tilted her head, laying the ladle down. She stuck her tongue out at Lauren and without warning she sprang, knocking Jai back onto the bed and pinning him to the bed. A grin appeared on her lips,"You are not entitled to do anything mister. All things must be approved through me."she teased softly. She bent her head down and kissed him. A shiver ran through her and she sprang away from Jai. A blush crept into her cheeks as she hurriedly went back to getting her soup. Wow. Their first kiss. She giggled softly and hugged Lauren,"You seriously are the best."she murmured letting her go. She refused to look at her mate, her blush still in her cheeks.}
