Raphael's mind began to slip, a soft fuzzy feeling sweeping over him slowly. His gaze slowly went blank, shoulders slumping as he was slowly overwhelmed by the warlock's spell. Something happened then. A weird feeling flooded his mind, like that headache you get from eating ice cream too fast - not quite brain freeze, but that cool feeling in your head. It expanded, spreading down to envelop his heart and chest. He coughed.
The warlock cursed, realizing his spell had broke. Snarling, he cast a spell to teleport himself away. Some day he'd get Raphael, and soon. His employer wouldn't like his failure.
Raphael blearily glanced around, looking up at a neon sign that announced the date and time. He started a bit when he realized it was midnight on October 30th, now officially October 31st.
His eighteenth birthday.

Werid purple smoke swirled in the air of Magnus Bane's townhouse. Hope'e lungs screamed as she inhaled the sweet smoke, soon her vison began to blur and her dancing became clumsy, but Hope couldn't stop. Her body swirled through the smoke, her hips moving to the beat of the music. Something was off. Hope could feel it, but she still couldn't figure out what it was or why she couldn't stop moving. Her body was in contanst motion though her mind was hazy.
Magnus Bane watched Hope from the safety of his room. He couldn't have a Shadowhunter harming any of his guests. He didn't want to earn a bad reputation amongst his own people. He couldn't afford to lose clients. He hadn't done anything to harm her permantly just disorient her.
