Clary watched as Raphael left the room and than she cried out in frustration. He was right of course. It was her fault and her fault alone and she couldn't think of a way to get over it. She sighed and grabbed her Steele and exited the room. She needed to talk to her husband.
Hope was furious, she had so much pent up anger and she didn't know what to do with it.
(Grrr Im thinkin about starting this over. )

Raphael walked out of the Institute, into the light, yet freezing, rain that had begun to fall from the skies. God, there was so much hurt, so much sickening sorrow in his hear that he didn't know what to do. He tilted his head upwards, staring into the rain that fell like tears to the ground. A single tear slipped from his right eye, mingling with the rain that had drenched his face and hair. In the depths of his eyes was a soul-deep hurt; one that was borne of a parental betrayal. He remembered seeing a movie when he was a kid; a movie named The Quest for Camelot. One scene had stuck with him for so many years.
The protagonist's partner, a blind man named Garret, had just handed over the legendary Excalibur to the main character, Kayleigh. He told her that he would never be accepted in Camelot; he was blind, and useless to many people. Of course, throughout the journey the two young people had fallen in love. As Garret turned around and walked away, a song - akin to one sang earlier in the film - came over the background. It went like this:
Like every tree stands on its own,
Reaching for the sky, I stand alone.
I share my world with no one else,
All by myself,
I stand alone.
It was sung in such a heart-wrenching way that it stuck with Raphael. Now, he mused, the song fit his situation.
He really did stand alone.
