<sub>Jai visibly relaxed when he caught sight of Orenda, his nostrils flaring. "Renda," he said gruffly, meeting his sister's eyes. It was clear that his wolf was still fighting for control; his eyes glowed with that odd light whenever his wolf had control. He grip around the little cub that was Ember tightened slightly, instinctively. She was his mate; he had to protect her. He couldn't live without her, couldn't drop back into the darkness again.

Erik raised an eyebrow, waiting to see if Jane would stay or go.</sub>

Ember's form became unsteady. She began to shift from creature to creature. Her beast trying to find the perfect form to heal it's self. The animals ranged from mice to lionesses. Ember was fading and fading fast. She needed a healer and she needed one soon.


Sabine's paws flew through the underbrush, searching for her. She had to find her. If she didn't her master would beat her and she couldn't let that happen. She didn't want to disappoint him again. He had raised her, nurtured her, and taught her the ways of the Schimba even though himself was not. She had been raised to kill and for one purpose and one purpose only. To kill her. Sabine herself did not know they were twins. That they had been separated at birth. That her mother had thought her dead. But he knew. That's what mattered. He always knew. She growled, her pace quickening as she set out on he mission that she been prepared for since birth.</sub>

"Orenda," Jai gasped, shoving past his sister. He laid Ember on the couch, reaching depsarately for Unole through the Schimba link. Unole... my mate...

Unole's response was a surge of anger and worry and then the link faded away. Jai sat on the floor next to his mate, rocking back and forth, holding her hand between his. Please, he cried, begging the Great Spirit to help, to save his mate. There was, of course, no response.

A rush of pure energy swept through Jai's house and he snapped his head, catching sight of Unole. He sobbed in relief as the Schimba leader marched forward, heading for his daughter's side. "Ember," he said. "Can you hear me?"</sub>

<sub>Sabine's pace slowed as she neared Jai's home. A low snarl ripped from her throat.
Not only was her mission to kill or if given the chance capture, she was to replace. Sabine and Ember were identical twins and as such had almost the same link. Only those who knew the both of them could tell the difference. It was a perfect plan. Kill or capture the true heir and replace her with Sabine and than wait till the time was right. Than strike from within.

Ember was fading more and more, but she heard her father's call. Papa</sub>

<sub>"Be calm," Unole said softly. He rested his hand against his daughter's forehead, drawing upon the powers bestowed upon him by the Great Spirit. A gentle, light green glow enveloped his hand, sinking into Ember. The magic spread to Ember's heart, pumping in her veins, spreading through her blood to reach every part of her injured body.

Jai paced angrily back and forth, growling and worrying over his mate. Unole gave him a look, warning him not to interfere in the healing, but Jai couldn't help it. This was his mate.</sub>

<sub>Ember's back arched and a howl of pain ripped from her throat. While the magic was healing her it was painful as hell. Her bones started to reknit and her muscles regrow. She growled and her nails dug into her the surface beneath her and eyes burned a feverish yellow color.

Sabine waited for her cue, she knew her master would prefer the Schimba princess to be alive. He wanted the pleasure of using her to her own devices. She snarled and shifted into a snake.</sub>

<sub>Now, my child.

Jai's head snapped around towards the door. His wolf was growling, hackles raised, recognizing a threat to his mate. His wolf was clearly unhappy and wary and Jai found himself agreeing with the supernatural being. Growling low in his throat he positioned himself between the couch and the door, green eyes narrowed. He waited, shifting his form. Night-colored scales swept across his form as he became more reptile, taking on the form of his favorite dragon from Dreamworks' How to Train Your Dragon. He clapped his jaws shut, perfectly mimicking the appearance and power of Toothless, Hiccup's Night-fury dragon. His tail lashed, flicking back and forth. One ear twitched. Jai had copied Toothless' form, down to the missing half of his tail, though he ignored this fact and focused on the feeling of danger.</sub>

<sub>Sabine was no fool. She made sure to choose a form that would go unnoticed. A fly. Her wings buzzed as she slipped in between the tiny crack in the floor and door. She flew right past Jai, her eyes never leaving her target. She grinned as she came into her line of sight. Finally, she would fulfill her destiny and become the true heir of the Schimba throne. A growl rang through the room that held the princess, her mate, and the king. Sabine transformed into a glorious dragon of sorts. It had long elegant wings and it's body was covered in dazzling blue scales. It roared its mighty roar and it seized the princess, before it gave fly. It wings destroying the roof. It didn't take long for Sabine and her twin to be in the air, hurling toward her master's secret hideaway.

Ember was unable to even process what was going on. She was increbily weak from the healing process and it would take her awhile to gain her strength back.</sub>

<sub>Jai didn't hesitate, flinging himself into the air. He gave chase, easily gaining on the massive dragon. His eyes were narrowed, wings beating against the air, before his form changed for that of a peregrine falcon. He spiraled into the air and released a cry of anger, diving towards the dragon's eye. His talons scored across Sabine's flesh before he spiraled out of the way.
